Thanx Buddy,

But I am no cop. I am here in London living with no connections to cops and was at first fascinated by the way the cops drive these cars over here. Man!!!! they drive fast. they in real terms take the s**t out of the car, they push it to the limit in every single gear. and yet they get the best cars to drive.

Since i came to London, I have always dreamt of being able to drive the police car even though for a few days. the way they weave through the traffic (without even touching a pebble) is just superbly precision driving. its like any good video game but with real cars in real traffic.

Thats the reason get excited by the looking a top of the line RANGE ROVER or a new LEXUS Hybrid RX 400.

Actually the theif will stop the car hes driving just to get a good look (and maybe even a ride) in the Lambo. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Nice Thought!!!! You never know this might just be the idea behind getting the beast of a car.

But trhese cars are stripped out - no electric seat, other luxury gizmos, plenty of computing power etc. At one time, the A/c's were removed, not sure now.

You can pick these cars up, albeit very tired at auctions....with a few holes in the roof and dash for peanuts but with 150k miles of hard work on the clock

Quickly browsed through this thread. Don't remember seeing any pics of the Swedish Volvo. Am told that they are awesome too -- big, fast, powerful. Also, I think the brand name may not be *all* that crucial (within certain limits, of course) in the sense that most of these cop cars are probably modified ones anyway.

Quoting from the discussion in following blog, titled "English cop cars",

http://www.dvorak.org/blog/?p=2446 ,

Quote:
Most British motorway police use higly modified volvos - they can outrun almost any production car in existence and plenty of customs sports cars as well.
Here is a picture of a Swedish Volvo V70 police car, apparently in older colours.

Looks really muscular to me.

Would you believe one of the cop cars in Hyd is an Isuzu 4x4 Trooper (Apt name I know!). I was behind it a coupla nights back. Did'nt pay much attention to it thinking it was one of the UN cars from ICRISAT. But when I overtook it, my dear sis literally screams in my ear... "that's a hyd police car!". It was then that I noticed the familiar blue star sticker with traffic police written on it. Crazy it was! Saw the thing again near my place the day before too!

Godspeed.

Alok.

That countach is a Photoshop job,no cops no matter how well off can manage a Lambo countach as a cop car, and the countach is a quite difficult car to drive, one needs Van Damme's legs to drive all day with it's clutch and practically no rear view because of the engine makes chases impossible.
Rest is all good !
