Re: 2013 Ford Mondeo / Fusion :: Now to be powered by award winning 1.0 EcoBoost engi

Any idea if Ford is planning to bring this car to India? Have read lots of rumours about this car being brought sometime next year but nothing concrete. I really think if Ford brings this one, with a powerful engine and a reasonable set of features, priced between 18 - 22 lacs, this could capture the market.

Modeo was an excellent car but to bring it back and succeed, it would take a lot of smart brains to price it correctly. Ford has messed up big time with its pricing of the New Ford Fiesta, otherwise it was a beautiful car.

Fusion was again a great hatch and Ford might possbily decide to introduce it back in the premium hatch segment but that segment is really very sensitive, either you succeed or you don't - nothing goes average there.

My verdict - Its all in the pricing, do it right and you'll have a hot cake in India, just like the Figo. Lets wait and watch.

2013 Ford Fusion gets mixed review from Consumer Reports.

The 2013 Ford Fusion mid-sized sedan won praise for its handling and sportiness from Consumer Reports, but the magazine's automotive experts faulted the car for poor fit and finish and fuel economy that falls well short of claims on the window sticker.
Ford's two EcoBoost, turbocharged four-cylinder engines fall short in acceleration and fuel economy compared with the rival Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry, the magazine said.
The magazine also had more complaints with the Fusion's MyFord Touch infotainment and controls system, which controls audio, climate and communications functions.

It also has resulted in a drop in Ford's standings in third-party quality surveys.

Consumer Reports finds small turbo engines don't deliver on fuel economy claims - Ford Fusion is the latest

The latest example is the collection of EcoBoost Ford Fusions we tested, which come with small, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The smallest one—a 1.6-liter producing 173 hp—is a $795 option over the basic conventional 2.5-liter four cylinder on Fusion SE models. But that car's 0-60 mph acceleration time trails most competitors, and its 25 mpg overall places it among the worst of the crop of recently-redesigned family sedans. The Toyota Camry ,Honda Accord, and Nissan Altima, all with conventional 2.4- or 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines, get an additional 2, 5, and 6 mpg, respectively. And all accelerate more.
