Ever since it was launched at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show it has caught my attention because of its large yet compact proportions & a simplistic yet futuristic design.

The Cross Blue is built on the same Octavia MQB platform.

The Cross Blue draws power from a 190 bhp TDI diesel engine and two electric motors with 54hp and 114hp which are in turn powered by a 9.8 KWh Li-ion battery pack in the center tunnel.

A 6-speed DSG propels the car from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.

Fuel Economy Claimed - 47.3 km/l

Positioning : Between the Taigun compact crossover and Touareg in the Volkswagen line-up.


^ This means it may be lauched in the 40 - 45L segment (for that price this is like Q7 size and Q5 money)

IMHO this car has tremendous potential if launched in that price range

Chinese media reports Volkswagen has decided to produce the CrossBlue in China at a brand new factory located in Changsha in Hunan Province where they'll make 300,000 units each year.

VW has confirmed that a new crossover concept will be revealed at the 2014 Detroit motor show. However, they did not disclose any additional details. A recent report suggests that the concept will be a 5-seater rendition of the 7-seater CrossBlue concept which was revealed at the show last year.

The trademark filling from last December is indicating, and also VW registered it internationally at the beginning of June.

VW Teramont spied almost ready for its debut later in 2016.

VW’s three-row crossover is only for the North American market – at least at first. It shares the MQB platform with many other VW Group products, which means a transverse engine up front. The most likely powerplant is the 3.6-liter V6 from the U.S Passat with 280 horsepower, and 4Motion all-wheel drive would be option – possibly even standard equipment. There are also rumors of the brand’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in the powertrain lineup and perhaps even a hybrid later

Now new pics of the VW's SUV for America and China surface.

However, promotion vehicles can be expected in November this year at the motor show in Los Angeles, and start selling early 2017. Version designed for the Chinese market might also be expected in November, and that the Guangzhou fair.

Largely retains the dimensions of the concept version, which includes the length of 4986 mm, width 2014 mm and height of 1732 mm.

The American market is in the gamma quadrant motors can expect 3.6 litre V6 petrol, 2.0 liter turbo as well as plug-in hybrid Variant.
