The 2nd-generation Chevrolet Cruze

Hey Guys, i felt we should start the countdown towards the Chevrolet Cruze 2014 as this will come to India once its launched overseas. The Cruze has been a decent success story for GM in India and we should expect the next generation model to come in and take on the likes of the new Corolla, Octavia, Facelifted Elantra and Jetta in 2014. The Spy pics show some real potential and just like the current model, the styling will excite buyers.

re: Next-Gen (2014/2015) Chevrolet Cruze: Spy Pics & Renderings

wow thats great news.

I hope it does retain its "horsepower champion in the sgment" specifications.
though its about time that new one comes out. the current one has started fading a bit. but the major question is how long will GM india take to bring this car to india after its international launch?

GM really needs to work its strategy... Lately none of the Chevy vehicles seem to be doing well... Sail and UVA are duds and the only thing coming to mind when talking about Chevy is the huge Tavera recall and firings

I sincerely hope they address the issue of poor rear legroom in the new model. Particularly if it has to give the likes of Altis, Jetta, Elantra & Octavia a run for their money!

Completely agree and i think they also need to take the quality of the plastics up a few notches as well which the car deserves.

The launch of all new Cruze has been postponed by GM to 2015. The reason being that the current Cruze is apparently doing good numbers to continue in the current state.

re: The 2nd-generation Chevrolet Cruze

Hmm. The exterior seems so toned down and i think its lost its main USP.
The interior looks great and i hope the quality of plastics has improved.
I doubt whether GM India will bring it here after the poor performance of their high end cars over the last 2 years. The Upper C segment has shrunk considerably too.

Cool looks! I do feel like the front bumper grille looks more Fiesta/Ecosport like!? But hey, I have no complaints though. Thumps up for the new design!

re: The 2nd-generation Chevrolet Cruze

Hi all, Going by it's front profile I feel this design is not at all good as compared to the present Cruze. Headlamps look inspired from Fluence and the Tail lamps look inspired from Fluidic Elantra. Totally waste in terms of design. For me as an individual; if something is not pleasing to my eyes I do not go to check it or buy it.

Having said this, The present Cruze is massive, both in terms of looks and power. However, this car makes me wonder that if this particular model is launched in India with exact looks then people over here would really find it difficult to relate themselves to this car.

Lastly, In my view the current Cruze has better road presence and exudes a more powerful character amongst it's competitors.

Thanks

Oh my. This one has such an uncanny resemblance to the Hyundai design philosophy of recent times. The current cruze looks so muscular and aggressive which matches its USP. I doubt if this one carry forward the same USP.

re: The 2nd-generation Chevrolet Cruze

I wont say this is the worst design. But, according to me TATA did a better job in designing the Zest.

Hey, I am no design guru and comparing the two segments is horrendous but this is the opinion I have of a car which was bought for its 'masculine looks' once.
