Came across this bit of news on the internet. Apparently , BMW is feeling the heat after the launch of the new C. They have added a lot of tech into the standard 3 now including bird's eye camera. The major add on is however the adaptive suspension even in 320d. Seems like a step in the right direction.

Re: Spy Shots: 2015 BMW 3 Series (F30 LCI)

This has been on forums around the world, but all they have to do to deal with competition - new C class or new A4 or new kid on the block - is bring back the hydraulic steering unit.

The electric one in the F30 is great, in fact the best among electric setups (not even GTI comes close), but for those of us who have driven the old one that isn't enough.

That's what I wish to see in LCI!

Re: Spy Shots: 2015 BMW 3 Series (F30 LCI)

I expected BMW to move the game up a lot further when it came to the interiors, the sport trim interior looks good the thick steering in the regular versions is looking really staid now. The engine line up is still impressive although 3 cylinders sound out of place, underpowered tax saving BMWs have been the norm in Europe for too long, atleast they aren't outsourcing the engines.

Re: Spy Shots: 2015 BMW 3 Series (F30 LCI)

Are the pictures in the link a mix of both pre-LCI and the LCI? Some of the pictures have the current steering wheel while some have the new one with the round centre like we got in the 5 series refresh.

Overall, from the pictures, the refresh is very subtle as most of the changes are under the skin. I doubt BMW will bring the petrol to India but I hope they give the HUD in the 320D & yes we need the internet connectivity as well . I wonder if they will bring the LED headlamps to India even as an option.

Spotting a BMW was like spotting something cool 10 years or more ago. They look so meek and ordinary now. They need to make the front a little aggressive. They are just pulling the front and its stretching and snooping down.

Re: Spy Shots: 2015 BMW 3 Series (F30 LCI)

So basically more mechanical updates than cosmetic. I'm not surprised going by BMWs trend with the 7 series facelift and the 5 series facelift. We can expect the new 2.0 engine with better refinement, which was introduced on the X3 LCI. Also the LED headlights and fogs are a welcome addition, and so are the tail lamps which looked basic earlier. They are updating the 328i engine too, and calling it the 330i but that will be next year. Also seems they have included parking assist, I don't think the 3 series had it earlier.

EDIT - Seems xenons are discontinued, and only halogens (with LED DRLs) and full LEDs are available. Also the suspension is updated. And the power bulge (?) on the hood looks nice.

Both the steerings you are talking about have been there on the present F30 since its launch. The current one you are talking of is the sport steering wheel, while the round centre is the M sport. Both are presently available too, except we don't get any M sport model in India to get that beautiful round steering.
