The first F30 3 Series facelift / LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) prototype has just been spotted!







The changes will be minor exterior tweaks to the front bumper, grille & deeper inset headlights.

Although no camouflage appears on the rear, the LCI will also feature new LED tail lights.

F30 LCI will begin production by July 2015

I don't get why they have stopped the trend of making the turn signals in the rear tail lights clear during an LCI. Clear glass on the turn signal part with orange flashing LEDs look so much better, similar to how it is in the E60 LCI

I have a feeling these car manufacturers camouflage their cars so that they get spotted. That's a very cost-effective way to generate some buzz on the internet and auto magazines.

This time with the lights ON, to give a indication on how the signature angel eyes will look, IMO nothing noticeable.

Also the LCI will get optional full LED headlights

Also notice the uneven panel gap between hood & bumper, a new hood will likely be designed (yet to be fitted) ?

Can't notice any difference from the current F30. Hope they introduce a few more colors and interior trims.

Looks identical to the current F30. What is the change here? How do we know its LCI - other than the fact that the front bumper is camouflaged?

The only difference I can see is the wheel seems to be new. It looks like an E90 sport package wheel (looks good IMO).

1) The lights are slightly different i.e. deeper inset headlights.

2) Restyled front bumper.

3) The grille is different i.e. having 11 slats now.

4) Nomenclature will change too, for eg. 335i will become 340i, 328i will become 330i

The front has minimal changes. Looks like the design has a slight proclivity towards the 4 series.

They are talking about 3 cylinder petrol & diesel engines! BMW went from straight 6 to In line 4 and now to 3 cylinders! These may work in Europe but for Indian traffic we need a proper 4 cylinder motor.

Hmmm...hard to say. From their current design philosophy, it could be the future of anything from 1 series to 7 series :P !

Yes, thats how they work.

But the trend setter or to say a new design philosophy is always started with the 3.

Recent example was when we saw the headlight & grille integration started off with the new 3 then adopted in X5 then X3 and now recently we saw leaked images of the new 7 too having the same design language.

So it may be safe to say that the 2022 3 series will adopt the BMW 'i' design philosophy (as we see in the above renders).

But, thats few years from now and also off topic as this is an LCI thread

I agree sir. And the rendering does look good, except for the fancy bumpers that befits only an exotic IMO. But I seriously hope and pray for these manufacturers to ditch this family look philosophy and give some individuality to their models. It's not fair!
