Re: Volkswagen T-Roc SUV - Based on the Golf platform

More on the T ROC,

Unveiling of the Compact SUV,

Interiors of the T ROC,

Quote:
From one bumper to the next, Volkswagen's newest crossovers measures 4,234mm (166.7 inches). At 1,819 mm in width and 1,573 mm in height, the T-Roc is 252 mm shorter (9.9 inches), 11mm wider and 131 mm lower than the second-generation Tiguan .

The wheelbase (102.5-inch or 2,603mm) is 31mm shorter than a Golf 5-door hatch, but also 55mm longer than the Polo. So most of the magic happens in the overhangs. Cargo space is substantially increased even over a Golf, measuring 445 liters to the tops of the rear seats or 1,290 liters with them folded flat.

The range obviously has to kick off with a 1.0 TSI, which is a 3-cylinder turbo hat makes 115 HP and 200 Nm of torque. Above that is the one we'd buy, the 1.5 TSI with 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque.

They will be matched in power by the 1.6 TDI and 2. TDI. However, Volkswagen has gone bonkers and is offering two flagship engines with 190 HP. One is a TSI that runs a special combustion cycle, and the other is a very expensive TDI with 400 Nm, which is more than the Golf GTD offers.

Customers will also have the choice between the manual and 7-speed DSG autos, or even all-wheel drive on some models. That's something no other MQB A0 model offers right now.

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc SUV - Based on the Golf platform

After its unveil, now the T ROC seen on German roads. This CUV is expected in India sometime in 2019 and sit below the Tiguan in VW's line-up.

India was mentioned as a possible target market for T Cross at its unveiling in Portugal. Will it be a sub 20 lakh C/SUV ?

Why isn't VW bringing this to India sooner? It looks great and sit alongside Creta. Seriously VW is always very late in India!

It will have to be CBU if launched in 2018, and will not be viable to contain cost. They will make this locally provided the MQB/A0 platform is approved for India.
Decision will be taken in September.

Rumour: Volkswagen to introduce T-Roc SUV in India

Volkswagen T-Roc in its production form was unveiled earlier this month in Italy. Jurgen Stackmann, sales, marketing and aftersales head at Volkswagen Passenger Cars during the unveiling mentioned, "this (VW T-Roc) type of SUV is also gaining in importance in Brazil, India, Russia and the USA". The statement indicates that the German manufacturer might introduce the SUV to the Indian market sometime in the future.

The T-Roc is Volkswagen's fourth SUV and is based on the MQB platform. It slots under the Tiguan and is set to make its public debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The SUV measures 4,234 mm in length, 1,819 mm in width, 1,573 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,603 mm which is identical to the Tiguan. The 5-seater T-Roc however is shorter, wider and sits lower to the ground as compared to the Tiguan.

In Europe, the T-Roc will have 3 petrol and 3 diesel engine options. The lower variants will be offered with FWD and a manual gearbox while the higher variants will come with AWD and 7-speed DSG gearbox.

VW is yet to introduce their MQB architecture in India and the decision regarding that could be made during management board's meeting in September 2017. A shift to the MQB platform would require considerable investment in reconfiguration of the current assembly line. However, this would also allow VW to introduce some cars like the new Polo, Virtus sedan and possibly the T-Roc in the Indian market.

Re: Rumour: Volkswagen to introduce T-Roc SUV in India

While it will be a wonderful addition to the line-up, the way VW India has been going about its business, I don't think this one will come to India any time before late 2019 - earliest.

They are just happy doing business with the cars upto Vento for now by the looks of it. Also - I feel the market hasn't yet matured for a car like the T-Roc so far. Another couple of years with cars like Jeep Compass etc bringing the premium compact SUVs to common sightings & people won't mind paying a premium for a smallish SUV that VW will want.

For now - the Indian buyer still wants a LARGE SUV (=Fortuner/Endaevour) with he/she pays 2 millions. I don't think this car can be priced any lower than that OTR at all. Any lower - and most of the things you see in the pictures above will be missing. And then it will be just another Duster really!

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc SUV - Based on the Golf platform

This is underpinned by the same platform as the Audi Q2 correct? That C-pillar on the VW screams Audi Q2 to me every time I see it. Simply looks like a re-skinned version to me. I shouldn't be surprised though given how that's been de rigeur at the Group for ages now. Still looks a damn sight better than the other VW SUVs. I can't get behind the current gen Tiguan. Too many horizontal lines happening up front. I keep thinking of a Gillette Mach 4 or whatever razor what with it's gazillion blades. I don't think they've made a pretty SUV since the first gen Touareg. It might look like a simple, lumbering oaf of a car but I think it's aged the best out of all the VW SUVs so far.

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc SUV - Based on the Golf platform

T ROC prices announced. Pricing starts at €20,390 in Germany.

Quote:
Pricing starts at €20,390 in Germany, for the entry-level grade, which is powered by a 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine, rated at 115PS (113hp).

T-Roc Style trim level means you'll have to pay at least €22,590 with the same engine mentioned above.

Depending on specification, the Volkswagen T-Roc can be had in two-tone paintwork, which includes a contrasting roof, A-pillars and side mirror casings, a first for a VW model.

The only other powertrain option is the 2.0 TDI with standard 7-speed DSG and 4Motion and is priced at €31,825.

On average, the Sport trim level is only about €270 more expensive. It comes with slightly lower suspension and 17-inch alloys. The other difference is the availability of a 2.0 TSI. It too is only available with DSG and 4Motion. However, the gasoline engine makes 40 HP more and will set you back €30,800.

Volkswagen with multiple color combinations for the roof and body. They range in price from €730 to €1,030

Both the Juke and the Captur start from €15,990 and Toyota's C-HR Hybrid from €21,990.

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc SUV - Based on the Golf platform

VW T-Roc R With Quad Exhaust . Does it have 300+ HP ?

Quote:
T-Roc R and not an R-Line mainly because it's got quad exhaust pipes. This is probably a test mule with a drivetrain from the Golf R dropped straight in. The real deal could have a lot more changes on it.
While the Tiguan R was originally testing with the 310 HP 2-liter turbo, it's now left plenty of room for the T-Roc R to be developed.

Volkswagen T-Roc SUV - Based on the Golf platform-spyshotsvwtrocrwithquadexhaustlikelyhas300hp_11.jpg

The standard T-Roc is already a pretty impressive machine, even if it's hampered by Volkswagen's predictability. It's available with LED lights and a digital dash, but the R will probably look a lot different. Fender flares, a revised bumper, and lowered suspension will all play a part
