Spy shots of the second generation Dacia Duster reveals it being a seven seater. Launch could be in 2017.

At present the car doesn't look like big changes introduced. However, straining the view, you notice a significant novelty: the car looks longer.

Damage hypothesis for sure an increase in length of 15 cm (overall size should be approximately 4.50 metres), enough to mount a third-row seat and turn so the Duster in a seven-seat car. The engine range is expected to remain roughly unchanged and then includes the 1.2 TCe and 1.6 petrol, besides the well-known 1.5 dCi. We also use an automatic transmission was introduced recently on the current generation.

Expect Renault to have an Indian version in 2017.

The so called compact SUV segment has its aspirations to grow into a proper SUV, with an additional row of seats.
Just my idea - they can offer two models on the same Duster brand, one satisfying the thirst of the proper SUV owners - with good engines, longer wheelbase & increased length, third row seats, a little bit more GC etc. The other model can be the typical compact, with 5 seats, smaller engines tuned for good FE.
Both models can have AWD, Automatic transmissions and similar features across their trims.
This actually in my opinion help the company to get customers across segments and give competition a tough fight.
These days, most of the customers of Duster / Ecosport etc are the people who drive mostly as single occupant, in the city, and bought them as an alternative to the boring sedan.
A bigger SUV (7 seater) would in fact does not attract these customers. They still would want to have a small SUV. The customers for bigger SUV are the ones who want to own XUV500 and the like.
i.e. Selling the existing Duster with an appropriate facelift & the new generation bigger Duster together in the same market would only increase their sales, while just selling a seven seater SUV would reduce the sales further.

The forthcoming generation Duster will be built on a new platform and will be more spacious, and have the option of seven seats. Expected launch in 2017.

The new Duster will be built on the CMF modular platform which has the new Renault Megane Kadjar, and Talisman. It is divided into several versions. The most compact version of the Cmf has underpins Kwid, a crossover class with future mini competitor- Suzuki Ignis originally intended for emerging markets but it speculates that will be offered in Europe

The range of engines but will not change radically. The main engines will still be 1.2 TCe 125 HP, gasoline and diesel 1.5 dCi 110 HP combined with front or full traction.

the design will be more aesthetically pleasing and will take a three dimensional shape will be more enjoyable and more elegantly connected with the rest of the bodywork.

It is speculated to come in a length of approx. 4.50 metres with 18 cm higher than the current generation.

Next Gen Dacia/Duster rendered.

Set to be introduced sometime next year, the renderings depict an evolutionary crossover with a bold front fascia that incorporates a revised grille and restyled headlights. The model also has larger fog lights, plastic body cladding, and a familiar roof rack. Overall, the design remains pretty faithful to the original model but it still manages to look a little more upscale than its predecessor.

The new generation of the Dacia Duster will be premiered in 2017 with a more modern design but in exterior and the interiors.

its technical structure will benefit from a new platform. This will bring a greater interior space and better performance on the road, with lower balancing body and best response curve. As with the current model, there will be front-wheel drive or 4 x 4 versions. The starting price should not exceed the 11.000/12.000 euros.

The following year, in late spring of 2018, the length of the Dacia Duster will grow about 20 centimeters up to 4.5 meters. The goal is to create what could be called "Grand Duster" with two additional seats in two retractable seats in the boot. The engines will depart, Diesel, 115 HP and gasoline of 130.

That looks like a Photoshop job on the Renault Kwid.

The front end and even the doors are from the Kwid for sure, with even the sticker imitating the side cladding clearly visible in the pic.

A Romanian website has obtained the image of the New dash that is speculated to come in the New Duster.



The horn button has been replaced by a regular horn mounted on the airbag. Design change is seen on the spokes, while a monochrome display is seen at the right side of the dash.

A New 7-seat Dacia/ (Renault in India) Duster SUV tipped for 2018 debut.




Key to its plans will be an all-new Duster in 2017- a fresh design language for the brand, but to capitalise on the ever-increasing SUV market, an even larger and more practical seven-seat version – possibly badged the Grand Duster – will arrive the following year

To keep costs down, the Grand Duster will stick with a development of the platform used on the current five-seat version, but with an increased wheelbase to accommodate a third row of seats. The seven-seater will measure around 4.7 metres in length – around 200mm longer than the standard Duster, which is also expected to grow by the same amount, up from around 4.3m.

As a result, boot capacity on both versions will also grow; we expect a 500-litre load area for the five-seater and upwards of 650 litres in the Grand Duster with the third row of seats folded.

A selection of the engines available in the current Duster will be carried over. The new 124bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol will be offered, but the current 1.5-litre diesel is likely to be ditched in favour of a larger and more powerful 130bhp 1.6-litre diesel.

There’s unlikely to be the option of an automatic gearbox – again, to keep the costs as low of possible – with all models coming with a six-speed manual as standard. Four-wheel drive will continue to be made available as an option, though.

Wow! Very nice traditional SUV stance and clean design as compared to the current Duster. This should be good enough to take on the like of Mahindra XUV 5OO head on.

I guess Renault decided to differentiate the Duster now that they have Kaptur crossover planned for the emerging markets.

The original Dacia Duster (Renault Duster in many markets including India), was introduced in December 2009, and being over six years old, is due for a full makeover. The second generation 2018 Dacia Duster is said to be offered in 5-seat and 7-seat versions. A set of speculative renderings from Auto Express show how the 7-seat Renault Grand Duster may look like.
