Nice work by Toyota, they live up to their expectations like always.

Hope to see this car replace the current Corolla asap, but i have a hunch that Toyota might get greedy and take it the Skoda way.
They have been pushing the price of the current corolla down towards 8.5-11 lakh band, which is a huge gap between its next offering: the Camry price at 25 lakh otd. They could use this as a Toyota Altis and cover the segment hugh 10 lakh segement gap they have created. Much like what the Skoda did with the Laura.

Kewl!! Dont get carried away - it only looks like the Camry from the front.
I cant understand why anyone would pay 20L for this.

This car + D4d = Honda back to pavilion !

Hello!! Nobody is sure about that 20L price tag. It was just a wild imagination.
Toyota will be crazy to price the car like that!

agree:

:I Rule: when will it come to india if any body has any clue kindly reply

20 lakh price tag is the most ridiculous judgement! no wayssssssss

I thought camry for 20L + Tax

this would be in the 10-12 L range

Absolutely love it! I would even take the current corolla instead of the civic.

For 20 lakhs? Impossible... I hope Toyota prices this corolla wisely and not like the new camry.

ust a doubt... why people are thinking that new corolla will be priced at 20L in Indian market(or can even think of that price for this market)? definitely camry is overpriced in Indian market the main reason being its here through CBU route. Corolla being CKD here, can never be priced in that range.. so why compare it with camry as far as price is concerned? if there is any other reason(thought of corolla at 20L in Indian market),please let me know

Note from mod : Please do not use FONT, SIZE or COLOR tags as they do not work

If its over priced or if they go skoda way then we always have civic to buy and if its gets expensive then one can always buy Accord so toyota will have to price it right otherwise it will go camry way which sells 100 if accord sells 1000 then this one will sell 300 if civic sells 3000 if they dont price it right

Launched recently these cars are known as the Aurion and Presara in the australian markets and are actually doing quite well there[especially the aurion].Priced between 12-18 lakhs[indian rupees],with the former being the cheaper version while the latter is some kind of a luxury sedan.
The high price is also partly due to the 3.5l V6 engine 6 speed auto engine producing 272 bhp[common to both],which would mostly not make it to india for cutting down costs. For people interested in FE figures of this 272 bhp engine it returns an astounding overall figure of 10.10 kmpl according to toyota australia.

I am just wondering if this is the next generation corolla for India [ corolla in australia is a hatch and hence the difference in names] also it does not look a different car to the earlier pictures even though external looks are not identical.

For people dissapointed with present corolla interiors:

Sourece and more info:

1>. Aurion

2>. Aurion Presara

Hey Rahul , that was some really nice updates . THe interiors are really something else , wow !

Maybe they think we dont deserve much.

Comparing the old corolla and camry the price difference was around 7 lacs , so I guess we are going to see this babe on our road for not more than 15 lacs , anything more than that , I'd rather go with Soichiro Honda !

Considering the blow Civic has made to the Corolla's marketshare Toyota is definitely not going to sit quiet for long its only a matter of time they gave it back to Honda by launching this new beauty and pricing it head on if not lower , 2007 surely is gonna be full of fireworks :)

Off Topic: There are rumours in the market that Toyota is planning to welcome new Accord with a substantial price cut on Camry.

A pretty limp response - basically, a dressed up corolla.

Unless they have done some radical revamp underneath
