Before the new Audi A8 makes its official debut on July 11, it will be featured in the latest Spider-Man film. Will show its autonomous side!

The car will specifically be an A8 L, in which Parker (played by Tom Holland) is chauffeured by Happy Hogan (played by Jon Favreau). Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may recognize Hogan as Iron Man’s chauffeur.

The Spider-Man scene is set to show off the A8’s party tricks, too, as Hogan turns around in his seat to face Parker in the back and the car keeps going on without his intervention. The scene shows off Audi’s traffic jam pilot, which will be the first road-legal example of level 3 automation.

New-gen Audi A8 teased ahead of global premiere

Audi has released a teaser video of the fourth-generation A8. The flagship sedan will be unveiled on July 11, 2017 at the Audi Summit in Barcelona, Spain. However, the car's first glimpse will be seen in a Hollywood movie - 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', which will premiere in the USA on July 7, 2017.

Audi's CEO, Rupert Stadler, has already confirmed that the new A8 will come with Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities. Level 3 self-driving functions enable the car to drive itself in certain situations without the need for any human intervention. Audi claims that the new A8 can drive itself at speeds up to 60 km/h. It will also be able to park itself, as indicated in the teaser video.

Audi shows more of its tech savvy A8,

This time around, it shows the active suspension capable of automatically adjusting ahead of hitting a bump in the road.
A front-mounted camera will be in charge of scanning the road up ahead 18 times per second and then send the gathered information to the suspension, which in turn will pre-set itself to ensure a silky smooth ride.
The suspension’s actuators will be programmed to provide the optimal amount of travel to actively control the electro-mechanical suspension system before hitting the uneven road.

The active suspension will work in tandem with a four-wheel steering system further increasing stability and at the same time giving the A8 a turning circle smaller than that of the A4.

Another ace up its sleeve will be the plethora of sensors able to detect a collision around the vehicle. In case of an imminent side crash occurring at speeds of more than 15 mph (25 kph), the suspension’s actuators will automatically raise the A8’s body only on the exposed side by as much as 3.1 inches (80 millimeters) in just half a second. This way, Audi says the force of the impact will be directed towards the sedan’s stronger areas, like the floor structure and the side sills. As a consequence, the load impact on the driver and passengers will be reduced by 50 percent, so the risks of sustained injuries will drop significantly

Love its design, with BMW taking the game to the next level by remote control parking it'd be interesting to see what does the A8 has to offer...specially in the era of Tesla auto pilot cars

It's actually Hyundai that seems to have picked that design up from Lamborghini, which is part of the same VW stable as Audi!

Absolutely love the rear, especially that rear red strip. Classy design without going over the top IMHO. This is the first time I like the S Class, the A8 and the 7 in equal proportion from a design perspective.

The front is still conservative but boy the rear looks fantastic. A well rounded and taut rear end gives car a solid muscularity and the overall stance is very well balanced.. The interiors of course are un believable. The design,materials , gadgetry all should really elevate the passenger experience to a whole new level. For the first time all the big 3 Germans have a flagship model that trade blows with each other in equal proportion.
