Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

Its high time Motor Trend gets a dedicated thread here in T-Bhp. Of-late, they have been coming up some really amazing production videos. Like the Head 2 Head for instance which is in its 80th episode now. Amazing!

And here are two of the biggest and best ones till date from Jonny Lieberman and Jason Cammisa. They are both incredibly funny and really know their cars.

1) World's Greatest Drag Race 6!

2) Picking the 2016 Motor Trend Best Driver's Car! The sound track is amazing on this one!

And here is the Head 2 Head playlist if you haven't seen them already.

Enjoy!

re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

Motor Trend's own thread was long due indeed.
I have been a regular viewer of their videos since the past 3 years or so and have literally seen them grow.

And of course, their 'tame racing driver', Randy Pobst has some serious skills which he loves to use behind the wheel. It's always amazing to see him drive.

Jonny Lieberman, Jason Cammisa and Carlos Lago (he left MT I guess) are my favourites on that channel, and their 'Roadkill' videos are worth a watch too!

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

A BHPian recently shared this video on another thread. First time I saw Jason Cammisa and am already a fan. Reviews are usually informative OR entertaining (e.g. Top Gear). They are rarely both....but Cammisa somehow manages to create just that combination.

Crank up your speaker volume & listen. His expression at 10:49 is simply priceless! A true petrol-head

I'd say the production quality is easily on par with Top Gear. Would never say this for any other publication.

A thread about MotorTrend Channel!

Here's one of their playlists that I like - Engine Masters and a video from the same.

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

Here's another outstanding video from Jason that I saw this evening. As always, crank up the volume . This car sounds like no Mustang you heard before.

I like the way he explains tech stuff - makes it easy to understand for everyone. Even my non-auto inclined brother got a basic understanding of why the GT350 sounds different from the regular V8 GT.

I have been a subscriber to this channel for more than a year and they have generally been good with a couple of not so good phases. Jason is a new guy in the team and is generally good.

But this video is a master piece. I watched Chris Harris's review and this back to back and this just takes the cake for going into minute details about the car, having an awesome story and backdrop. This video just brings out the passion and love this car demands.

Not to mention that I absolutely dig this car.
I have always felt that as car enthusiasts coming up with that one car that you will ask from god, given an opportunity is never easy. We always have a list of cars. But I have finally found my 1 car. It will be this.

This video, in edition to Chris's trinity shootout, Chris's Singer 911 and Evo car of the year 2016 are 4 of my best you tube videos.

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

They produce awesome videos, but their channel manager is an idiot. If you do not use a VPN, you will see videos from Motor trend India. Of course, you can search for a specific video and watch it, but you can never end at their landing page because it defaults to Motor trend India due to geographic redirect.

How do I get to their US channel ?
It's annoying to be redirected to the Indian channel.

Sir, do subscribe to the channel from one of the videos we have listed. You will get the updates from their various playlists. Head to Head, Ignition etc. Or you can simply search these playlists in Youtube. You will be lead to these video playlists.

There's an easy fix for that. You don't need VPN. Go to www.youtube.com and at the bottom of the page there is an option called "Content location". Change that from India to USA and you can then access the US videos of motor trend. It no longer shows the silly Indian channel.

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

Oh man how much I love this channel. They almost destroyed it with a paid subscription scheme like \DRIVE but I am glad it still alive and kicking. Their hosts are the most awesome bunch I have ever seen. They speak in a way only an enthusiast could appreciate.
To pick a favorite episode would be a crime. But this one DEFINES Jason

Its nothing short of automotive pornography. Its not just the episode thats entertaining, check out the comment section(he has a very close resemblance to Adam Sandler )

Also heres a sort of interview on him

And then there is Randy Pobst. This guy is as skilled and informative as he is humble. He got a new standalone show The Racing Line that everyone must watch.

Then there is HotRod Garage,Engine Masters etc. So if you are a late comer let me warn you, you'll binge on this channel for a lot of time .

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

I am a big fan of MT and Jonny Lieberman, with the entry of Jason Cammisa things got even better. Their presentation skill is nothing short of awesome and has loads of useful information. These guys mix information with humour in a very professional manner. Its like where Clarkson compares with french and cheese, Jason compares with emotion and character. Some of MT's other YouTube episodes such as 'Road kill' and 'Dirt Every Day' is also good to watch.

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

For car reviews, I find the British guys more relevant to our (desi) sensibilities. Besides, they cover every aspect of a car. When I lived in the US, I found that the Americans (Motor Trend, Car and Driver et al) spent extraordinary amounts of time talking about the driveability of the car and not other aspects like practicality, reliability and ownership experience.

Check out carbuyer.co.uk and carwow.co.uk for short, crisp reviews of cars that cover the key points well (with a little dry humour thrown in). If you want some mix of engineering or tech thrown in, CNET's On Cars is pretty good.

Re: Motor Trend Channel - Simply awesome videos

Big fan of their videos, this is one of the shows with less non-sense and true presentation skills.

This one is my fav : Bentayga vs. Tesla Model X... the drag race part will make you wow !
