The Austrailain versionis far more upmarket than what is sold in some places in the Gulf...here the car doesn't even have a sound system.

But the 4.6 litre straight six is such a blast on the sands that you would forget the need for a stereo.

I guess for India the four door version with a 2 to 2.5 litre Diesel would be more appropriate.

Re: New Land Cruiser 70 series-turbodiesel V8[euro4]

Land cruiser 70 series shortwheel base diesel version is even more interesting. It is the only 4X4 SUV suitable to go anywhere in south Himalya in Bhutan. This SWB versionis is available only in Bhutan and Tahiti and gasoline version in Bahrin .The light brown is gasoline version where as white of diesel version below.

However futile it seems, i just can't stop praying that the LC70 comes to India. Though i love the 3 door, the 4 door station wagon model with the 3.0l D-4d would make lots of sense in India. Though the smallest engine is an i6, Toyota could easily plonk in the 3.0l too. But being one of the rare Toyotas that are still strictly 'Made in Japan only' can't hope to see them in India anywhere soon.

It's surprising that these are sold even today in Australia. I bumped into a review[1] of the 2021 variant and absolutely in awe, I wish a mini version of this lands here.
