This looks the same as the WhatsApp jokes that were getting circulated few months back when the X7 was unveiled to the public. The jokes just got real.

Leaving the front end, even otherwise the car looks pretty ordinary for a concept. BMW seriously needs a better design direction, and fast!

Looks quite nice otherwise, though hardly has any "BMW family" design traits.

Doing a disgrace to such a beautiful concept by puting that grille on it (more like kidney bars now).
After illuminated ones in the new x6 and this, I wonder what's next. They're probably going put a seat behind those bars in the next gen 7 series & X7 name it the 'BMW individual luxury outdoor viewing suite' option for the ultimate wind in your face experience.

Like Doug DeMuro said they should replace sniffer dogs with new bimmers. They would smell out anything from a county away!

The front end – the new face of the 4 Series range.

The BMW Concept 4 hovers close to the road. The distinctive kidney grille, remarkable air intakes and prominently sculpted surfaces provide an immediate advert for the car’s performance and its engaging character as a driver’s car.

Grabbing the attention at the heart of the front end is the vertical kidney grille. “The kidney grille has always been a signature feature of BMW cars,” reflects Domagoj Dukec, Head of BMW Design. “The BMW Concept 4 presents a confident and classy take on this iconic feature. At the same time, the BMW Concept 4 offers a look ahead to the expressive face of the 4 Series range.” The vertically oriented grille fits seamlessly into both the proportions of the front end and BMW’s illustrious past. Indeed, its form and design reference legendary classics such as the BMW 328 or the BMW 3.0 CSi and therefore shine the spotlight on the BMW brand’s long and successful history as a maker of fine coupes.

The kidney grille is also home to some elaborate details. The grating itself contains horizontal trim elements with a faceted cut which create a neat contrast against the sporty design of the front end and lend depth and exclusivity to the grille. Look closer and another highlight is revealed: the intricate grating within the kidneys and air intakes, which is made up of an array of small “number 4s” joined together.

As expected, the car has created a lot of interesting media headlines worldwide.

Oh gosh can't believe BMW wrapped a car around a cheese grater.

Looks like next gen G22 M4 will stay true to the BMW Concept 4 displayed during the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

That grill is hideous. What is BMW doing - they are literally asking us to look elsewhere.

Although, I understand the sentiments, except for the spy image from the production line where the grills are seperate, I kind don't find this single piece M grill that bad. I just wish BMW instead of making it vertical made it horizontally bigger would have given the car a low wide stance. Anyways, I will wait to see the full reveal and in real life before judging. Well, Mercedes, Jaguars and Audis have always had big grills and BMW is now following the rest.

BMW grills earlier were called the Kidneys. God knows whose kidney they are trying to show in their recent iterations. I've heard of kidney enlargement but this is ridiculous. It looks like Enlarged Lungs right now.
