It is known that VW is on a launch spree with SUV's defending its market share in Brazil and similar markets.

As such after the T Cross - Volkswagen is launching a SUV in the MQB A0 platform but this time instead of the Virtus it will be similar in Wheel Base of Polo.
Will rival Honda's WR- V.

This New model has a mission to fight with the Honda WR-V, and also with the Caoa Chery Tiggo 2. IT is technically defined as "CUV " (English acronym for "Compact utility vehicle "), and will be manufactured together with Polo.

The New model will use the MQB A0 platform, the same as the T-Cross (and the Polo), but unlike T-Cross, which uses the wheelbase of Virtus, Volkswagen's new compact SUV has the wheelbase of the Polo, i.e. 2.56 meters.

This smaller wheelbase would put Volkswagen's new SUV in a segment below T-Cross

Volkswagen's new SUV will use only the 1.0 TSI (200 TSI), Flex, 128 CV and 20.4 KGFM engine, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission of six gears.

This New compact SUV from Volkswagen is one of the four brand launches for 2019. Besides it, you can expect Polo and Virtus GTS, and Tarek, at the end of the year

As of now this CUV has not been discussed in its India portfolio, but if T Cross is launching in the 1.5L TSI configuration, then this CUV would make sense as it comes only with the 1.0L TSI engine.

So in Year 2021/22 for India VAG could have the foll. portfolio for India.

1. Skoda KAMIQ based SUV - Rivaling Hyundai Creta, etc.

2. Volkswagen T Cross ( 1.5L TSI ) - Complementing Skoda's SUV

3. Volkswagen's CUV ( 1.0L TSI) - Rivaling the subcompact 4m S/CUV's

It could be as in the article too says it could be based on the low cost Seat Arona.

There are still very few details of the model, but rumors suggest that this new model would be a model derived from the Seat Arona , which is a brother of T-Cross, but lower cost, sold in Europe.

VW will be fools to ignore the sub 4m market in India. Besides, isn't this a better candidate for their EV plans!!

On the design front, I hope the final version is nothing like the render --- doesn't have the understated looks of VW, and certainly not the mature design of the T-Cross. One nice thing to note --- for once we have a European giant aping an Indian grille, kudos XUV 300.

Volkswagen trademarks T Sport, speculations are that this could be the Crossover for emerging markets including India.

Unlike the Polo Based T Cross seen in Eu, the T Sport will be at < 4m in length.






With Volkswagen's onslaught of SUV's this is highly possible and expect an iteration of this CUV from Skoda too. Already rumors are rife in India on Skoda evaluation a Maruti Brezza / Hyundai Venue rival.

The SUV action is in Brazil, with the launch forecast of at least five models by the end of next year. Two of them have already arrived, being they Tiguan Allspace and T-Cross.
Another is already defined and it will be Tarek. But the list should still include a top-of-the-line SUV, well above the Tiguan, and the Atlas Coupé is quoted for this mission.

But the smallest of SUV's will not be T-Cross. It will be a crossover based on the modular platform MQB-A0, having the same between axes of the Polo.

Will have a WB of 2.56m, VW is expected to realize its investment with other global operations, especially in India and China.

The reason is that Volkswagen wants to be in all the possible markets VW ise missing to accomplish this plan, both below 4.00 m. In this track, Hyundai has shown that size is not document and Venue is proof of that. So, T-Sport is expected to hit the South Korean (who knows so far).

What is known in concrete is that the production will take place in two locations in Brazil: São Bernardo do Campo and Taubaté. In both cases, local unions confirmed the Assembly's proposal to make a crossover based on the Polo, indicating a high-volume production car, domestic sales and obviously export, such as T-Cross now

The TSI 1.0 engine must be the one chosen as the main one, still using the MSI 1.6 in some markets

Brazil is gearing up for the launch of another CUV - The T Sport, from VW.



The CUV will be the smallest from the group, but there will be another CUV - T Track which will be slightly bigger and in a segment between T Sport and T Cross

Launching in 2020, the T Sport will be pitted against Honda's WR-V.

Recently, the factory in São Bernardo gave 15 days of collective vacations for employees to be able to prepare the line for the T-Sport.

If VW India plans their products matching price of the competition in the picture, they can sell in good numbers. All the cars need adequately sized engines and good service backup. Rest of the things will be good as long as VW sticks to its brand qualities

T Sport a Polo crossover with a coupe-inspired confirmed through design sketch.

Will Rival Jeep Renegade, Honda WR-V, Ford EcoSport and others in the small compact space.

If all goes as planned a few months ago, Volkswagen begins producing a CUV (a coupe SUV) based on the Polo MQB A0 platform between September and October .

The design is precisely of a coupe SUV. The front looks like elements of the Polo and T-Cross, while the rear is completely different from any car of the brand.

The Volkswagen T-Sport will be positioned below the T-Cross. To make the hierarchy clear, it will maintain the 2.5-meter Polo wheelbase - the T-Cross has the 2.65-meter Virtus wheelbase. Internal space will be similar to that of the Polo, but with trunk volume close to the 521 liters offered by Virtus, fruit of the extended rear swing.

The T-Sport is due to be introduced in 2019, but first deliveries are not expected until early 2020.

The use of the 128 hp, 20.4 mkgf 1.0 TSI turboflex 1.0 TSI three-cylinder engine is practically certain. The naturally aspirated 117 hp 1.6 MSI can make the cheapest versions, either in manual five-speed or six-speed automatic configuration

Volkswagen's Navarra plant in Spain, today responsible for Polo and T-Cross, will also take over production of the compact SUV coupe. Production is scheduled to start in 2021 and Spanish media are already talking about the possibility of a hybrid version for the model.

This Model would likely come to India as the smallest CUV from VW, rivaling Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue , etc.

Volkswagen T Sport Confirmed.

It's the New Urban Coupé concept , with a design that brings sportiness combined with a higher driving position. It is a unique recipe in the segment that it will occupy. It will be the democratization of a style offered today only in premium segment models,

- Launching in 2020

- With an Investment Plan of R $ 2.4 billion (Brazil)

- Will be positioned below T Cross

- Inherits a wheelbase of just over 2.56 m in length, the new T-Sport should be slightly longer than the hatch, being approximately 4.15 meter

-While the hatch is 1.47 m, the T-Sport can reach up to 1.55 m

-the new rim 16 wheels (205/60-sized tires) in the entry-level version and 17 (205/55-sized tires) in the premium version.
