So, Toyota Fortuners sold in Thailand gets radar cruise control while most German luxury cars sold in India still don’t get them! Are they still banned in India? Why aren’t they being offered here like everywhere else?

IMO, the new Non-Legender Fortuner looks much more mature & grown-up. Seems like Toyota is finally getting design ideas from Lexus. Loving the overall look of the Fortuner now - very modern, elegant while still retaining the off-roader characteristics.

In fact, was speaking to a 2017 Endeavour 3.2 owner today morning and he'll sell his 3.2 in a second if this engine makes it to India (my vested interest is to take the 3.2 off his hands ). He earlier chose Endeavour 3.2 because of its powerful engine and flat folding 3rd row. With both things taken care of I think it'll see a lot of existing Ford owners taking their money to Toyota now.

Even I am contemplating about getting the new Fortuner after my 3.2 beast gets 5-6 year old. The current gen Endeavour might be on par with Fortuner with its 10 speed gearbox but it can't compete with 205bhp and 500nm engine. I might loose on many creature comforts, plush interiors, power folding 3rd row, ANC, panoramic sunroof, etc the list is long but it is really difficult to live with 2.0 engine specially when you are spoiled by the 3.2 tranny that too a remapped one which operates at 230bhp and 560nm torque.

But what I feel Ford will also launch the bi-turbo engine if Fortuner gets the above engine in India. In that case I have to ditch Fortuner again like I did earlier.

I think the Crysta lost out as it was cannibalising the Fortuner sales with the 2.8 version. If I am not mistaken the Innova would be lighter as well so would be far more efficient than the fortuner as well.

The engineer in me has popped a question. I am curious to know how these sensors work. In my opinion they implement gesture control technology (correct me if wrong) probably using an Infrared / Motion sensor but with conditions in India as in when it rains then mud might cover it and can become a hindrance. Does it still work and how?

I somehow prefer the looks of the Fortuner over the Legender version. Its a shame they haven't launched the 2.8L engine in the plain version. Hope they launch the 2.8L engine with the 500nm torque in the plain looking Fortuner also in India.

Is there a difference in the suspension of the Legender and the regular fortuner. In the above mentioned details it is mentioned that Shock Absorbers are only in the Legender whereas that cannot be true. But the Red springs do generate some interest of whether they are the same or something different.
