I had recently rented out a Ford F150 XLT to help a friend move!! Attaching a couple of pictures here.
This is my very first post in Team-BHP so please pardon any mistakes. Kindly let me know how can I improve further
Humongous Snout
Large imposing presence. Looks extremely handsome in the 2019 avatar
It is an impossibly long vehicle. This was equipped with the Supercrew Bed
The Driver's view. Steering wheel was comfortable to hold and felt perfectly sized
Sharp graphics throw out adequate information. Perhaps in the higher variants the information provided is much more substantial
Standard affair Infotainment system. Comes with Ford Sync 3. Supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play. This vehicle was equipped with the reversing camera which made parking a breeze (Yes, it was surprisingly very easy to park in tight spaces)
The feel of the buttons were akin to the XUV 500, Hexa and the lot
European styled Headlight controls. One thing to note, I had taken the car at night to the Niagara Falls and the throw from the light was extremely disappointing. A truck of this size demands better illumination. Added to this, the vehicle was equipped with Automatic High Beam which had a mind of its own making the drive even more cumbersome
Thick A-Pillars but given the seating position, I did not have any issues with them. This can also be attributed to the emptier roads, this side of the world
Comes with a dedicated Low Range Mode to get out of sticky situations (Pun intended)
The vehicle overall had massive glass areas letting in ample amount of light. The kink in the window line helps in spotting traffic sitting on the adjacent lanes
The seats were fairly comfortable. This was a six seater option hence provision for one to sit in the middle. It could also fold down to make way for cup holders
Good rear seat legroom but adequate under thigh support. the base of the seat could have been extended by a few more inches
Standard utilitarian pedals. The dead pedal had a weird design, where it would end abruptly and become a flat spot on top. It felt very uncomfortable to put my feet there so i just let my foot rest on the floor. The width of the pedal could have been better. My 10.5 'wide' feet size did not find them comfortable
Ribbed bed to store your stuff. With my short stature it was a challenge pulling items from the far end of the bed. The loading bay could have been a little lower
265/70/R17 Goodyear Wrangler All terrain tyres
XL sized ORVMs. Do the job extremely well
The heart of the matter. 5.0L V8 engine with Auto Start/Stop Technology. Produces 395HP @5750 RPM and 400 lb-ft Torque. The engine is very tractable and gains momentum very easily. I have not driven it extensively so cannot vouch for highway driving dynamics. In city speeds, the brakes felt sharp and stops the truck without any drama
The engine bay is huge and set high up. The air box too is located high up. Aiding in wading capacity?? I had trouble capturing the engine bay due to the sheer height of it and my lack of it
Yours truly...
