2022 Honda Civic revealed; full debut on April 28

Honda has unveiled the first official image of the final production-spec version of the eleventh-generation Civic sedan.

The full debut of the 2022 Honda Civic is scheduled to take place on April 28, 2021. The Japanese carmaker will also share all the technical details along with more images of the car on the above-mentioned date.

In terms of design, the 2022 Honda Civic looks similar to the prototype version showcased late last year. However, there are a few changes, such as the addition of fog lamps on the front bumper and body-coloured ORVMs. The car also features dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome surrounds for the windows.

Honda is yet to reveal the interiors of the Civic. It is expected to feature a completely revamped dashboard.

The 2022 Civic is likely to use the same engine and transmission options as its outgoing model.

That looks very sporty and could have been a serious alternative to the Octavia and the Elantra. It's really unfortunate that Honda have discontinued the Civic for our market. The death march of the Sedans continues unabated!

I doubt many will look forward to buy Honda Civic after recent debacle by Honda. Hope they assure longer term commitment going forward with their premium models

That is a lovely looking car. So glad they dropped that awful chrome bar on the nose. Really sad as a customer that Honda doesn’t really consider our market seriously any more. The Japanese have always struggled to understand the average Indian consumer psyche IMO. And frankly it’s the small percentage of indian enthusiasts who are the losers in the end..

So true! The new Octavia pretty much has the market to itself. That's probably why Skoda is risking it with the small 1.5L TSI.

Sucks how Honda had botched up the Civic brand-name in India which was such an iconic nameplate at one time! They didn't bring the 9th-gen here, while the 10th-gen was a shoddy effort with the wrong engine-gearbox combinations (no Petrol MT, no Diesel AT), the wrong pricing (more expensive than the Corolla & Elantra) and a premature demise.

If Honda decides to launch the new Civic in India, they will replace this bit (strip between the headlights) with chrome:

and slap the Honda City's 1.5L iDTEC diesel engine on to this car. After all, 10th gen 1.6L diesel's power is too much for the chauffeur.

Ah! The sheep in wolf’s clothing.

Handsome sporty design which will no doubt be let down by wheezy underwhelming engines.

If one thing I can say by looking at this picture is that, damn Honda designs some attractive cars. There's not one ugly or neutral looking car from their stable. Heck, they even managed to make the amaze look decent.

With that being said, I have zero hopes of this car launching here. They dug the grave of the 10th gen civic here by their own hands and if they're planning to do the same with this, they better not bother.

My thoughts looking at the photo - "Maja nahi aaya".

No offence but Honda is not able to design Civic well in last few years. Latest City is way better at it's price.

For a second I thought it was the Honda S2000. The front and the side profile seems to have a different design theme. This is a polarizing design which is good .

So true. It saddens me to say that Honda has fallen behind even on the engine tech department.

Limited turbo engines, hardly any Dual clutch gearboxes, still limited diesel engines (diesel on its way out, but long way left still), not a pioneer in EVs, Toyota leader in Hybrid etc. Honda today globally doesn’t excel at any engine component/type unlike in the past.

Honda India is even worse. What it needs to do is to have fewer, but better products. Global latest products, turbo petrols across the range, good AT boxes with each engine - this is Honda’s last chance really!

PS:As much as we love 1.5 iVTEC of City, the reality is it’s yesterday’s tech which is just about par for the course. The game has well and truly moved on, Honda hasn’t!

Looks are one's perception.

IMO, design does not look good. Looks to be several decades old design. Curent civic looks smashing.

It would be wrong to comment only by seeing 1 picture, but sure seems like Honda has lost its plot. If anything, Civics have always been a looker until now. This one reminds of the old first gen (in India) Honda Accord. Sad to see such an iconic brand go down like this.

Couldn't agree with you more.

It looks very Bland. Civics were always edgy, the designs always caused some reaction. This one, dare I say it, looks 'Boring'. I do hope they liven up the design before it goes on sale.

P.S. - I do realize that 'Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder'
