BMW finally lauches it's much awaited 1 series car. The looks are pretty controversal but what else do u expect with chris bangle doing the designing? For some strange reason the rear of the car seems like that of the Alfa Romeo 147 hatchback. What do u think guys?
the car will have 4 engines.
1. Entry level 1.6 ltr 115bhp and 15Nm of torque.
2. 2.0 liter VALVETRONIC with 150 bhp and 200Nm of torque.
3. 2.0 litr CRDI 122 BHP
4. 2.0 ltr CRDI 163 bhp.

The car looks good in black and the interiors are pretty neat maintaining the solid and stylish interiors of bmw. Maybe chris bangle isn't allowed to fiddle around with the interiors.

Oh ya...the car is a REAR WHEEL DRIVE!

Nice interiors...decent rear and side profile. The car looks extremely well-packaged especially with the choice of engines on offer.

Whats the pricing comparable to?

Hey Amit

great pics on the 1-series and great work . So no changes to the 1-series from the scoop pics i'd put up a month back. But whats more imp is the specs look good.

But i can already see some kinda cannibilisation... mini and 1-series have nearly same specs (except the 2.0 CRDI). Hope they dont lose on sales there. I am still a lil disappointed with the looks, its trying hard to look like an Alfa 147, but not getting there. I think their sales target for this year shud be 1,50,000 units and cud go upto 2,00,000 units.

Will the 1-series work? Gimme some time and i'll give u guys a complete analysis. As of rite now, i am just hoping their price positioning and competition check is spot on.

Till then keep revvin

ya the specs look good. even the car deosnt look too bang[l]ed. one thiing i dont like though is the shape of the grille. The lower part is moved a bit inwards. Earlier BMs had a straight grille.
