Hyundai has introduced the Creta facelift in the South African market. It is expected to arrive at our shores by the end of this year.



The updated Creta features the ‘parametric jewel’ design similar to the new Tucson. It has LED daytime running lights integrated into the radiator grille and large vertically stacked headlamp clusters. The new Creta gets a reworked rear end with tweaked tail lamps, among other changes.



Inside, the Creta facelift comes with new features, including a rear parking camera, cruise control, wireless charger and electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs. The Indian version is likely to be better equipped with a digital instrument cluster and ventilated seats.



In South Africa, the Creta facelift is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 113 BHP and 144 Nm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT.

The Creta currently sold here is extremely ugly (personal opinion), but at least its design is coherent. Had some respect for the designers at least for sticking with their idea all over the car. The front the rear looks are consistent.

This facelift looks like two different cars from the front and the rear .

If new creta will look similar to Tucson, then it will diminish Tucson' value somewhat..
However for Hyundai India, Creta matters a lot more so cannot blame them for giving it a new robust look!!

Hyundai sure knows how to make ugly cars uglier.

I actually like the new Tucson, but this is an abomination. This hurts my eyes and my soul.

Both the Tucson and Creta had two different, distinct designs. Should have left them separate. This car now has no relationship with its side and front profile.

It looks a lot nicer in person than pics suggest. Its been on sale in other markets since early 2022 and I've seen enough Instagram videos from all angles to confirm that to a point I'm considering face swapping my model with the bumper, grille, skid plate and lights from the newer model.

On the rear the difference is the plastic shroud above license plate and the split stop lamps instead of single unit on current model which I'm not interested in replacing.

I find this design a lot better than the current Creta design. To me, Creta and XUV700's front looks were the most disastrous ones. I am now taking Creta off that list. Hope this design makes it to the Alcazar too. Alcazar's front makes it look like a hatchback. I think this front end will improve its fortunes.

Here, we have a render of the upcoming Verna.

It is important to note that the render is based on the imagination of the artist, it is very likely that the final product from Hyundai will look different from the render.

Just a reminder that this is an "imagination" and a render. Pretty pointless, meaningless and useless knowing that it is not the real thing. But these online portals continue to do it as click baits.

Normally I'd agree but not in this case. Hyundai has a tradition of 'corporate looks' starting from the Fluidic and now the Parametric. Going by the Tucson, Venue & Elantra, the 2023 Verna will look quite similar to this rendering.

I am ok with the new front design, how ever looking at the new design of its back, it makes me feel the current back design is way better. The designers has made ugly the uglier for sure!
