You are not wrong. I've done 401 from Windsor to Toronto. Its like the North American autobhan, kept it at a little below 100 mph all the way. I would'nt dare do that in the states.

The 401 (Macdonald-Cartier Freeway)from Windsor, ON to Montreal, QC is the busiest, widest and the best managed freeway in North America.

Probably where you are Sujay! But come to Toronto and you'll love the parking lot that 401 is. Other than the tolls, things are getting to the same levels.

If you are at the right place at the right time and also you got to know where to expect the cops.
I have many friends who do Windsor -Toronto (400 km) in 2.5 hours regularly.
I have myself done it in under 3 hours easily, although at night.

True, but that's only from Missisauga to North York during rush hour. Or else, you can always take the ETR 407 if you are going to the suburbs.
But with the volume of traffic you see on the 401, it's still extremely smooth.
Also, the Queensway (417) is another amazing freeway although narrower than the 401. Check out Ottawa - Montreal on the 417 (4 lanes only).

Did you notice the SUV version of the Suzuki SX4? I saw one in Boston. Too small by the US standards, but its very K-E-W-L !
