All in all, it was an absolutely awesome experience. Loved the time spent here and I could certainly come back here again. Even if all the exhibits are still the same. There are some legendary cars one can spend hours oogling at.
The premise is extremely well designed and the Audio Guides are an awesome aid.
There are activities throughout the venue for kids to keep them engaged.
having said so, I certainly missed many models. the timeless 928 was missing as were the awesome concept cars of recent times including the Mission X and the 2018 935. I really love the design's coming out of Porsche in recent time and I'd have loved to have seen them all.
Seeing this JWW video of the museum, I can clearly spot many examples that were not there when we went.
Also, it is said that there is a exclusive vault in another part of the same premise which is closed off for commoners like us. I did try to ask around but I was pushed table to table in an obvious attempt to dodge until the manager told me that it is very exclusive to Porsche R&D and outsiders are allowed on invite-only.
Furthermore, the glass-walled garaged adjoining the cafe has a lot of Skunkworks cars which JWW has covered. Mere Mortals don't have access to this as well.
What is accessible is an option to rent a 911 or 718 which @shankar.balan did. Unfortunately I had a time-constraint and I could not do it. just had enough time to purchase some Merch which is all the Porsche I can afford anyway.
As much as I did enjoy seeing the cars and the stories behind them, somewhere through the show, there were some traces of the Dark Truth- Porsche's involvement in WW, friendship with Hitler and how he profited from War. The video below details it out very nicely.
Regardless, It sure doesn't take away the shine it has today.
I will still strive to buy a Porsche one fine day.
They say, Patek Philip watches are merely taken care of for the next generation.
I can't afford a Patek Philip. Hopefully I buy a Porsche, take care of it and pass it on to my daughter on her 18th Birthday. got 10 more years to see this come through.
