Re: Next-gen Jeep Compass details leaked ahead of global unveil in early-2025

Looks pretty good, but would look much better with body coloured claddings.

Looks really good! A design that would definitely punch above its price tag.

The design and colour scheme remind me of a multitude of other SUV's but it somehow works..

This looks great. Jeep should seriously bring this model to India in Petrol along with Jeep Avenger as these models if positioned correctly can do some good for Jeep brand.

This looks really good.
Late with a generation change, but a pleasant model upgrade.

Hope this makes it to India in 2025, and not in 2026.

New Jeep Compass is not India bound.

Not a clean design, the front bumper looks like a stick on job and mirror shape is not gelling well with the body. And what's with the trend of dials replacing the stick, one idiot does it and the rest copy. Anyway its not coming here, so why bother.

Re: Next-gen Jeep Compass details leaked ahead of global unveil in early-2025

Is it just me who thinks that they are launching a refreshed Meridian as the 'New Compass'?

Maybe the meridian was a step in the same direction, but the side silhouette, the front grill etc are so much like the meridian!

Most likely the change to STLA platform means that interior bits will be shared across other stellantis cars, but then wasn't the Compass already on the Fiat platform?

I have been reading these renegade discussions since 2017 as I was very much interested in this car. Jeep has lost the Indian market a long time ago. I wonder why Jeep has not announced its exit yet.

Going OT:

There is a 'All New Jeep' for India in the price range of 15-20 lakhs including EV. Could be called Compass, Renegade or something else.

Re: Next-gen Jeep Compass details leaked ahead of global unveil in early-2025

I believe Jeep came to India to position itself as an aspirational brand and it failed. I feel a lot of these great brands come to India thinking "Utility = Aspiration" and this is where the failure is.

I don't know who in India looks up to Jeep as brand they want to own and show off in front of their friends, neighbors or consider it as a mark of arrival, hence the brand has no value at this point. They can in future choose to go the Renault way which is downgrading themselves as a budget brand but that will really be the nadir of it.

Its sad to see a brand like Jeep not able to understand a country like ours and is now almost standing at the exit point. Product strategy of trying to be a Maruti in sales and Mercedes in aspiration is a path one should never adopt in our market, else enter as a Maruti or be a disrupter.

Re: Next-gen Jeep Compass details leaked ahead of global unveil in early-2025

One of my juniors in the office asked me about a car around 25 lacs. As he had no issue with it being diesel, I suggested the Jeep Compass along with XUV700, Scorpio, and Harrier/Safari and told him the Compass comes with the same engines that Harrier, Safari, and Hector use and has superior build/ride/handling. He straightforwardly said No to Compass as it lacked road presence and had not much idea about the brand. And he wasn't the only one.

Even after more than 8 years in the Indian market, if a brand still fails to get recognised by the public, it can be termed as a failure.
A 10-lac car like a Renegade in 2017 could have made Jeep a more recognizable brand. An opportunity was lost there. They never learned, even after Fiat's failure. Now, as Jeep and Citroen have also failed, let's see if they improve with their next brand in India.

You're absolutely right the Jeep Compass, once a highly aspirational SUV in Indian Market, has seen its "desire factor" diminish over time, especially in the ₹25-40 lakh price bracket. Buyers increasingly prefer larger, more imposing SUVs at this price point.

I still remember as a 5th grader when we got the compass, it was a head turner, People stopped us and asked what car it was and I loved the attention.

Jeep's fundamental misstep in India has been grossly overestimating its brand appeal while underestimating how price-sensitive Indian buyers are. The company operates under the delusion that the Jeep badge alone justifies premium pricing.Jeep India operates like it's still 2017, when the Compass had no rivals. Today? They're just another struggling foreign brand that refused to adapt.

Jeep should urgently learn from Skoda’s revival playbook in India. Skoda went from being a "premium but unreliable, overpriced European brand" to a serious volume contender by fixing its mistakes, something Jeep desperately needs to do.

I've been deeply disappointed by Jeep's approach to the Indian market. They've created genuinely impressive vehicles like the Compass and Meridian, yet continue to make puzzling decisions that undermine their potential. As someone who truly appreciates the Compass' capabilities, it pains me to see the brand missing obvious opportunities. I sincerely hope Jeep starts making more strategic, market-sensitive choices with their India launches.

But I still love the compass and I am looking forward to what its going to offer.
