| The New (Old) Hennessey venom F5 teased! After initial renderings shown way back in 2014 and then pushed back for several reasons, Hennessey is finally expected to unveil the Venom F5 on 1st November 2017 at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. A small teaser video has been released in Youtube. The F5 name derives from the rating assigned to tornadoes boasting wind speeds of between 261 and 318 miles per hour, the top rating on the Fujita scale. (Obvious references to the top speed) Hennessey has stepped out of the shadow of the modified Lotus Chassis with a new bespoke Carbon fibre tub. Hennessey hopes to touch a top speed of around (or is it over) 290 mph. The internet has already started creating photoshopped images with signposts of 300 mph speed limit like the one below to build up the hype.  Not much is known yet except some snippets like: The engine would be as usual an American V8 wtih two gigantic tubos. The power would easily exceed 1400 bhp A single clutch transmission (to obviously save weight) Would weigh around half a tonne lesser than Chiron. After the heavy weight battle between Venom GT and Veyron, waiting with baited breath for the next bout between F5 and Chiron. | re: The Hennessey Venom GT Concept SEMA 2017 is here and its D Day for Hennessey. The Venom F5 is here and Top Gear has a whole lot of details made available of the car. Over and above my earlier post we know that. Power is generated by a 7.4 Litre V8 and two gigantic turbos. Power is now confirmed to be 1600 bhp Torque is now confirmed to be 1300 lb ft. All these are transferred via a 7 speed single clutch paddle shift gearbox. (Stick shifter is optional) Active Aero which has a V Max mode to reach the aforementioned insane top speed. The numbers being claimed by Hennessey are as below. 0-186 mph (300 kmph) - Under 10 sec 0-249 mph (400 kmph) - under 20 sec Top speed - 301 mph Hennessey claim to be confident in these because of the aforementioned power figures and a very slippery Coefficient of drag of 0.33 (compared to 0.44 of the Venom GT) They also claim that unlike Bugatti who find the tyres as the limiting factor, the light weight of the F5 is sufficient for the existing tyre technology of Michelin to last upto 300mph. The car looks too plane jain and so undramatic unlike the current breed of hypercars which are awash with aero trickery overload. Few photos below.         2 Nos. to end the post.
