412 bhp & 550 nm of V8 Power - My Next Car?

Chevrolet Middle East announced the Chevrolet CSV CR8, a slightly more manic version of the Lumina. Looks like my next car!

Sat in one today (still to testdrive). Boyish plastics aside, it looks rather severe inside.

But what matters is the 6.0 Litre LS2 V8 under the hood. Its right up there with the M3s, the IS-Fs and other executive cars on steroids....at about 1/2 the price. 0-100 kmph in under 5 secs, capable of 300 kmph plus in unrestricted mode, and to be sold in the US Market as the Pontiac GT8, this is the Holden HSV in Australia.

Pretty impressive engine. With the success of the GT6, this will surely make an impact on the cars in its segment. And with a chunk of $$s being saved,it'll be the # 1 option for the average buyer.

This is the Pontiac G8 or Vauxhalls replacement for the Monaro VXR. For some reason that one did not take of inspite of being a lot of RWD horsepower for the moeny. I guess its been rebadged for Middle East. Either ways its a great car.

YouTube - Vauxhall VXR8

R32 Thanks for the Vid link Steeroid - When I first saw your post I was like Chevy? Holden? Vauxhall? This car had to be marketed as these different brands to work. However after seeing the video. I am a believer. Why pay twice the amount for a M5 M6 or RS4. Or why buy a 3 series or E class when you can pay the same for this beast. If Clarkson has given his thumbs up.. Test drive it..hell buy it and give us your review.

All the Holdens are marketed similarly. The Monaro has a Vauxhall, Chevy and Pontiac (GTO) equivalent. Similarly this car is the HSV, the VXR8, GT8 and the CR8.

Same thrills at half the price.

yes it looks a bit boy-racerish in red. Looks much better in black, where the black plastics in the bodykit dont stand out like it does on Red or other colours. Send the spoiler into the wastebin and it looks quite good.

Atleast when it comes to cars- we can leave age behind! SRK is only starting to show off his body at 40, why can't we show off our cars.
