YetiBlog®-16th February 2008

TheOne® and I decide to drive in her Corsa to Tuebingen. It's a long drive and JD Madan will be really surprised to see me again after little over a month.
We don't have much time, but this is something we both want to do.

She starts driving, but after we hit the AutoBahn, she realises that she is still very hungover and sleepy. Soon I am driving the little Opel across the German highway. The iPod is playing and i have the pedal all the way down.
TheOne® is fast asleep in the passenger seat and I drive for about 2 hours uninterrupted.
Please do not flame me for this - I enjoyed this drive much more than the M3 drive.

When JD asked me what I was doing in Germany, I told him. I also mentioned that I enjoyed driving the Opel more than the M3. When he heard this, JD was silent for a second. He then said "I am praying my legs get better Sam, so I can jump off this bed and KICK your butt"

Soon we reach the picturesque university town and go on to surprise JD. We spend a happy hour with him. Soon we leave Tuebingen and drive up to Heilbronn, where we will spend the night.

nice pics and report Sam.

you should have kept that conversation with JD out of this forum. Now that you have put it here. I too pray that his legs get better.

YetiBlog®-17th February 2008 - Heilbronn

It's a lazy Sunday. TheOne® and I decide to walk around town. Thankfully my friend-the sun is up and about.

It is wonderful. Cold, but sunny. People are out walking, or roller-blading.

We walk all day, till the evening. We then drive to the videotheque and pick up a good German Movie. In Guten wie in schweren Tagen. It's all about loving your Eltern, lol.

YetiBlog®-18th February 2008 - Heilbronn>Stuttgart>Munich

Unfortunately my return flight is from Munich, this evening. I cannot get that changed. Heilbronn has no direct connection by train to Munich, I must go via Stuttgart.
The 2nd class fare is a ludicrous 65Euro. I explain to TheOne® that where I come from, this is an impossible fare for a 3 hour journey.
I first visit the Harman office to say my hellos to everyone. Soon we have an important conference across the table in the office.

Soon after lunch, it's time to go to the station. We say our goodbyes and I get onto the train. (I will see TheOne® shortly in Bombay in a month, that blog needs to be written now and that is why this one is rushing faster than usual, lol) A smaller train to Stuttgart, a quick change of platforms and I'll be on my way back to Munich on the ICE (inter city express).

My camera runs out of battery as soon as I reach Munich Airport, so I cannot take my customary plane photo.

And so this trip comes to an end. To say I enjoyed myself would be a gross understatement. Work, travel, pleasure and the opportunity to see a loved one all rolled up into one single journey. I am truly blessed with some good fortune and I am very thankful.

Thanks for enjoying my report. I enjoyed bringing it to you.
