I did not realise how tough this decision actually is..... I simply cannot make up my mind.... its impossible....
To me its Nissan GT-R with its Horses and also the price
in the feb issue of top gear magazine, there was a comparison between the GTR and the 911 turbo and the verdict was in favour of the GTR ..
at USD70K with import duties it would be Rs 60lakhs...value for money !
i love the gtr,some how i like the japaneese one over the audi,price and power is in favour of nissan.

HAH! Top Gear was just as confused - both are good cars for two different things.
I'm young right now and would love to fidget around with the computer on the GT-R but i'm sure it would become annoying after a while. At which point I'd get myself an Audi R8 for some true gran tourer fun. All that though is all a dream!:D
I would choose the Nissan, it can be tweaked to extract more power.

Actually no. To bypass the Gentleman's agreement brokered by the Japanese Govt capping the horsepower to 276bhp on cars Nissan had to do a lot of tinkering with the car (mostly electronic) to ensure that it can't be boosted up like the R32/33/34 generation cars which could easily go up to 1000 bhp+ with the stock blocks :Shockked:
So while boosting the power might be possible, rest assured it ain't going to be as easy as the last few generation cars.

Price is 70000 USD approx ex-sowroom. You mean dealers are making more than 50000-60000 USD margin on each car. I am sure Nissan would not be selling the car to the dealers for more than the MRSP. Someone mentioned that the premium was 15000 USD but $135000 just seems unbelievable.

70,000USD is still what it's being sold for. MANY people have bought it for that price. If they paid more they can contact Nissan NA and they'll slap around the dealer.

Nissan is trying really hard to make sure no dealer does that. They've announced that they'll be reviewing all GT-R order invoices and will penalize dealers if they rip off consumers.

Actually Nissan engineers claim that the new gtr engine is pretty difficult to work on mechanically and doesnt have the reserves of the RBseries engines.
Well quite a bit suprised with the speculations regarding the power capping on the new GT-R. The reason:
Few days back, the first GT-R hit the UK. Since the car was due for official launch only in Jan next year, some rich English bloke couldnt keep his money in his pocket and thoughts of the car, so he imported one in. With all the hosh-bosh around the car, it took him a week to clear the interviews and photoshoots of various magazines. Finally when he got it done. He had it run for a small test day. Last week, he had gave it a dyno run. The results which came out, have been quite suprising.
Heres the official release:
Official word from Nissan is the R35 GT-R’s maximum power is 473bhp (480PS/353KW) at 6400rpm.
The car is totally factory standard (though soon to be tuned), is running standard boost and is just run in.
Before putting on the dyno, Linney did a quick oil change with Castrol Edge, as the car saw some track action last week.
Using BP Ultimate 102 unleaded, the car recorded a staggering 520 bhp @ 6,617rpm!

So according to the blabber posted up by the Nissan Engineers, that the new GT-R doesnt have power reserves, a simple fuel and oil upgrade upped around 47 bhp increase.
