Though the car looks cool and better version of UVA, seems to have some similarities of Beat - Rear door handle near c-pillar, rear lights.

The car pretty much looks the same as the Concept RS except for the repositioning of the exhausts and small design change to brake light/ORVMs.

It sure will be one of the most sporty looking hatch when it is launched and hope they provide us with a good engine to go with the looks.

Looks like an i10-i20 sort of thing going on with the Beat and this one. Similarities in design, but the Beat (like the i10) is not really the looker (IMHO). From what I can make out, (like the i20) this one will look good!

Hope they come out with a diesel, and price it 50k below the i20 Consumers, rejoice!

The rear actually looks clean and nice, somehow the front looks a little too boring and the chevy logo is too big, i thought like in beat

I dont agree with this. IMHO it looks very contemporary, and looks better then some current crop of hatchbacks. It was designed by Italdesign and it speaks for itself IMO.

Ceratinly seem to be the production version of Aveo RS

Good catch Guna, it certainly looks like the production version of the Aveo RS concept.

2011 Chevrolet Aveo Sedan Pictures Leaked!

I was surfing through the net a while back and i saw the leaked pictures of the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo Sedan. I saw it and my jaw dropped. It was brilliant.

The Features, Price or engines are not given as yet, but i think that if Chevy brings this baby to India, it will give good competition to the Honda City, SX4 and the Linea.

The exterior design is just amazing and the interiors just blows your mind off. :P I am in love again.

I saw a blue one testing in chennai with a TR registration around 2 weeks back. The blue was very dull, no as brights as the one shown here. It was a blue that came on the 80 and 90s Maruti Van. It looked okay from the outside. could not really get a chance to look inside as i was in a hurry.

Guna

Thanks for the comparison.

The Aveo RS Concept seems to preview the next Aveo UV-A.
Except for the wing mirrors and aggressive bumper, the RS has very similar lines to the car in the spy pictures. And on the production car, spotted a plastic cladding on the front lower bumper.

Liked the exteriors and the interiors.
But I am not a fan of the rear-door-handle-inside-the-quarter-glass design. Especially on small cars. They reduce the glass area and make the back seat claustrophobic. Had a bad experience with a friend's Beat.

Spied – 2011 Chevrolet Aveo U-VA

With the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo, General Motors is upping its game and conveying the design launguage that is almost to everyone’s taste in the new Beat, isn’t a mistake.

In India, the new Aveo U-VA spied here will have a locally made diesel engine. Designed in South Korea, the car was previewed as the RS concept at the NY Auto Show in January. Thanks to the concept and leaked images of the Aveo sedan, we don’t have to try too hard to guess how the vehicle will take shape.

Two biggest factors why this Aveo will be unlike the existing twins – diesel engine, awesome interiors and radical styling.

Many followers, including us felt the lack of a proper diesel engine on the Aveo was its biggest shortfall. The design of the Aveo was nothing to write home about thanks to no facelifts or cosmetic makeovers despite overseas markets selling them.

Underneath the flashy sheet metal is GM’s Global Gamma II chassis. Powertrains will include both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged versions of GM’s new 1.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine for the US. We expect a 1.3-liter diesel engine on the new Aveo. The 1.2-liter petrol offered on the Beat could be a possible option with the sedan receiving a more punchy 1.4-liter.

Definitely a U-VA replacement. Its a common trend for new replacement models to be bigger than the outgoing ones.
