The Marque of this two door 2+2 sports coupé would be familiar to many.
But please identify the year and model.

Probably a 1961, when the front grille was shortened.

No you are right and wrong(oxymoron ), you just missed a very important detail in the name. Just for formality's sake I await a slightly more appropiate answer.

ID:487 is a 1961 Facel-Vega Facellia F2.

The Facellia was launched in 1959 to compete with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Mercedes-Benz 190 SL.

The earlier big Facels used large, powerful and reliable Chrysler V8s. However for the Facellia they built their own high power-output, cast aluminium head and block, with two overhead camshafts. Early Facellias were plagued by oil leaks and piston damage.

In 1961, debuted the Facellia F2, with all engine problems solved.

It had a 1,646 cc double overhead camshaft mill that breathed through a double-barrel Solex carburettor and put out 120 bhp@6400 rpm with a beautiful tuned exhaust sound. If anybody is interested I can email you the sound file.

With a 4-speed manual gearbox the Facellia F2 could reach 180 km/h. She had diskbrakes all round.

The Facellia was available as two-door coupé and as convertible.
The interior had Facel-Vega hallmark leather upholstery and a very fine wooden dashboard with a HMV radio.

All exterior trimming was made out of stylish stainless steel. The Facellia became the best selling Facel Vega. She was made from 1959 until 1963.

ID:488 What is the year, make and model of this beautiful red convertible with red interior?

Displaying the front view, would make it too easy. The body contours and original hubcaps are good identifying hints.

ID:488 is a Chevrolet Corvair of course - Ralph Nader's favourite car! This one in particular appears to be a 1965 Monza Convertible. 1965 is when this body shape was introduced and pretty much stayed so from 1965 to 69, when production ended. Very difficult to distinguish between the five years from the side profile since the 66-69 differed from the 65 mostly in the taillights, front and back monogrammes, bumper details, etc., but I have a hunch that this is a '65, basically due to the hubcaps, Ram.

Yes Karl, I remember that conversation we had. I don't know if she owned it too (quite likely for a stylish lady like her, although even the last Corvair in 1969 was a little old by the time she was a star in the mid-70s to buy one I'd reckon. But you also never know, imported automobiles didn't age so rapidly in the 'closed' Indian market those days), but was definitely driving it in the film, whose name I don't remember now. I do remember however, that the Monza was a golden-coloured coupe. Lovely scenes, in all respects.

I really wish to have a library of all the old 'motor' films, someday . . .
