Hmmm ... 5 cars is a production run, and so ok to appear on this thread ... but when it's 2 it's not.

I see.

FourWheelDrift: Only two examples of the 1979 Guanci SJJ1 GT were ever made. Out of these, only one was sold to the public. The other one remained with the builder.

Official Guess the car Thread (Please see rules on first page!)-guancisjj1gt.jpg

The website 1979 Guanci SJJ1 GT explicitly calls it a custom-built car.
It says it is one of only two prototypes ever built by Guanci Automobiles Inc.

While this automobile was scheduled for full production, it was never ever mass-produced.

So the prototype cannot compare with another car, of which five examples were actually produced on an assembly line.

Hope I have been able to explain the position clearly.

Warm regards
Ram

Rest in Peace Field Marshal Manekshaw. I do hope the family hangs on to the car.

Was watching an interview of him with Karan Thapar today where he mentioned his affinity for the number 4, and said even my car number was DL_ 1021, totalling to 4. I wonder if its the same one?

Karl, which is this car of the Field Marshal? Is it a late 50s, early 60s British Ford or Humber? Sorry for the bother, but would be a bit of work going through all the pages again for a lazy bong!

Thanks, Karl, didn't know the little arrow was so potent! There's a Ford (probably a Corsair) also in the extended Maneckshaw family, I've heard, and in Delhi. Apparently, that too is immaculate still.

Incidentally I have extended family named Maneckshaw, also from Coonoor, who have had an early 50s Chevy for donkeys years. I saw it as a kid in bright yellow, and last I heard was bright pink. Its in Goa.

Anyways, back on track now.

ID: 491 - This is the Oltcit, made in Romania and based on the Citroen Visa/Axel. The logo is rather like the Citroen's, only there's just one chevron instead of two in Citroens, and that single chevron is in a circle for the 'O' of Oltcit.

Spot on, Prabal.

I debated blanking out the logo before posting the pic, but left it on purposely. Didn't think someone'd work it out THIS quickly.

Cheers,

Nope, it ain't, Ram.

Jayz, I've PMed you my answer. Hope I'm right though. Let the suspense roll a while if I am, and somebody may hit the bullseye in the meanwhile.

ID:492

The tanker in the background has the symbol of Petrol Ofisi, which is a Turkish company. (I recall seeing the symbol on TV during the Turkish GP)

Looks like this car was photographed in Turkey.

Iran shares a border with Turkey.

My guess is it's an older Peykan.

ID:492 is a 1973 Anadol SL, 4 door saloon

Official Guess the car Thread (Please see rules on first page!)-anadolsl.jpg

Anadol SL on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Featured independent coil-sprung front suspension
And leaf springs and live axle like the Premier Padmini.

Brakes however were disc in the front and drum in the rear.
Steering was via a recirculating ball and worm steering box.
