I think the reason its not got the central steering position or an engine faster than an F1 is because they want to try something different this time. They've already done a supercar with the F1 so this time they're probably trying a more lower end sports/super car. It was never meant to beat the F1 even at conception IIRC. So let's see how it fares compared to the rivals in its class.

Btw, is this the final name? Because its so not a name that rolls of my tongue easily...

a nice car, but the design reminds me of the lotus evora. the air dams are not looking good, and the biggest thing is the central steering wheel. where is it??

the F1 was an icon, nothing was like it. but this looks too simple and resembles a lot of other cars.

Hey funkydevil,I beg to differ but the McLaren and the Italia look as different as chalk and cheese.Each and every line is different!Just the angle of the 2 photographs are bang on same!

Woudnt really call it the successor to F1.They are going to launch a more powerful and exclusive car later and porsche 911 competitor also.I have to say i like the looks of the MP4.Simple and unassuming.None of the " look at mee" lambo looks.

i kinda like mclaren going big and taking on the giants like ferrari/lambo/porshe on a large scale as a full fledged company.
I love the Mp4 shes gorgeous.

This is not the F1 replacement at all. it is in fact ,as was always told, a baby mclaren. you guys are right. the styling is a bit anonymous. no McLaren signature design elements on it. i just wished it had. The F1 is still one of the most stunning looking cars in the world. l I just hope the ltd number of people who bought it don't smash it up.
