Next Mercedes CLS exposed!

Fresh spy pictures of the next-generation 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS have appeared. As previously seen, a good deal of camouflage is now gone so more of the exterior can be seen. The front end features what seems to be more conventional headlights which don't quite rise towards the wheel-wells as much as the current car. LED daytime running lights will be an expected feature while the side mirrors are more square-shaped. These feature striped indicator lights like the E-Class and the S-Class facelift.

The back end carries new rear lights with LEDs which extend to the boot lid area and a set of rectangular/ trapezoidal tailpipes.

Mercedes-Benz will launch the all-new CLS next year with a range of engines, including petrol V6s, V8s, turbo diesels and an AMG model kicking out around 386kW (525hp). A BlueHybrid is also set to join the lineup. The drive should go through a 7-speed automatic sending power to the rear wheels.

The 2+2 four-door is probably only going to make a public appearance at the Paris Motor Show in September 2010.

The tail-lights remind me of stretched out Nissan Maxima tail-lights.

One thing to keep in mind, they are redesigning all their cars. If you haven't seen pictures of the MLK, and the new models coming out, I think most of the newer cars are getting the E and C class tail-light look as well as other things. Most of the companies like to keep their cars looking the same, think of Mitsubishi with their Eclipse and their Lancer and Endeavor, and also the Raider, they all have that black bar across the grill. Think of it as a signature like BMW and their nostrils.

What is wrong with mercedes? Are they really just going to make the CLS look like the E inside? I was expecting organic shapes not the straight lines we have seen on the E!

The front of the vehicle sure does look nice.Not very certain about the rear. A bit too swoopy I guess.

If this is indeed true then its a real shame. The best aspect of the current CLS is its awesome interior.

Has the car got some airmatic suspension or something . Loks like the lady is pulling up her skirts a little.
Looks brilliant anyways. Hope they price it right along with the XF.

IMO the E-coupe is a lot more stylish than this CLS. The current gen CLS is one of the sexiest 4-door coupes around.

From the spy shots it looks stunning. Looks like a nice evolution from its predecessor. The prev gen was stunning, have to see this in person and fully uncovered to see how it looks. My guess is, it won't disappoint

Also, in the side profile shot, the driver is sitting almost in the middle of overall car length. That's cool
