The front looks a more aggressive, seems to be the new design language of merc.
I feel the influence of the F700 concept slowly creeping in, with the slightly shark-ish nose.Cool.
I wasn't a big fan of the old CLS rear. The new one looks like a designer version of the E class rear.More like what you would have expected in the initial concept sketches of the E class.
BTW,hope they change the steering wheel back to a 4-spoke model, instead of the present skinny 3-spoke.

Thats an agressive nose! Its after a long time i have seen a car with such a upright nose,i guess pedestrian safety clauses had made cars more sleeker from the front.
But beautiful, angry and stunning LEDs.Looks like it can have Panamera's for lunch.

With BMW introducing shark-ed noses on many of their cars, Mercedes seems to have gone aggressive as well! The new CLS looks quite striking and fresh. The front seems to have over-tones of the SL and SLS AMG. The rest of the car looks swoopy and clean thanks to its fluid design!

But it does have stiff competition, in the form of the equally striking and gorgeous Jaguar XF/XF-R and the rather appalling, but brilliant engineered Panamera.

Great job, Mercedes Benz!

I just love this gorgeous car,but the interiors.
I can understand and appreciate the E class interiors.
Though entirely different it remembers me of the W123
Like the retro,nostalgic feel.
But what on earth is that dashboard doing in the CLS?
Anyhow it's not that bad ,just a little more fluid design would be nice.
BUT WHAT's THAT STEERING DOING IN A MERC
Okay in a merc sports car but in this luxury car?

Looks too much like an e class.

Doesn't have that quirkiness that the previous one had. Now THAT is a beauty.

I agree, its looks like a facelifted E Class. I think they should make it more distinctive.

Looks too fiddly when looked at from any angle other than in profile. In that, it looks just stunning. But then, this is only my opinion. Many may, and will, disagree, but I'd have the old one every time.

In fact I think the rear is quite beautifully done while the front doesn't look nice. I like the headlamp treatment though.
Previous CLS over this anyday!

Dashboard looks something that has been inspired my BMW!Very aggressive front and i love that waistline, which goes on to meet the "ponton" rear fender.

Oh dear, I half expected something good looking. But boy have they ruined the CLS. I see one every day on the way to work, and I just marvel at the tear drop design.

They should have let this one be.

The front is lot better than the outgoing one. The back is all right but not great. I dont think Mercedes will ever get rid of those big round chrome dials for climate control. Not that I'm against it! Why did they have the joystick gear like in ML and GL. SUV's are fine but why in a car like this. I personally prefer having a solid gear feel in the center console for sports car. And the parking brake, still manual!
