Powering the S1 is a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 228bhp and 273lb ft of torque. That’s 24bhp less but 15lb ft more than the older ‘EA113’ turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine used in the A1 quattro, which was produced in limited numbers in 2012.

The S1 will come with a six-speed manual transmission in the UK, plus a Haldex-style multi-plate-clutch four-wheel drive system.
An electronic differential lock has been incorporated within a two-stage electronic stability control system to limit wheelspin and further enhance traction.

Audi quotes a 0-62mph time of 5.8sec for the three-door S1 and 5.9sec for the heavier five-door S1 Sportback. Top speed for both is limited to 155mph. Combined fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are put at 40.4mpg and 162g/km for the three-door and 39.8mpg and 166g/km for the five-door.

Audi A1 will Get 3-Cylinder Petrol Engine, next it will be seen in A3.

Audi will start fitting three-cylinder petrol engines on its smaller cars, beginning with the supermini.

In the A1 and the A3, the three-cylinder will be a standard engine in the future, for sure. It gives a good feeling and plenty of torque.
The Volkswagen Group already uses three-cylinder engines vehicles of the VW, Skoda and Seat brands.

I've always loved the S-lines for what they add to the design cues of Audis. More so since they're always so subtle, yet they stand out so well.

Audi A1 2016 will get a new 1.8 engine 196 hp .

The new option brings the 1.8 TFSI engine under the hood with 192 horsepower and torque of 25.5 Nm available between 1250 to 5300 rpm (replaces the previous 1.4 TFSI 185 hp with the same 25.5 Nm). Only offered in the new Ambition version, acceleration 0-100 km / h takes 6.9 seconds, down from 7/2 of the 2015 model According to the German mark, the maximum speed is now 234 km / h against 227 km / h the previous

New Audi A1 due in 2018 with extra tech and class.

When the A1 arrives in 2018, it will be wading into a far more premium supermini market than the current model inhabits.

the new A1 will move to the smallest version of the VW Group’s ubiquitous MQB platform, called A0. The switch in architecture also means that production of the A1 will transfer from Brussels in Belgium to SEAT’s Martorell plant in Barcelona, where the car will be built alongside the Ibiza and Ibiza-based SUV, both of which are due next year.

A new platform brings new engines, and the A1 range is likely to kick off with a re-engineered version of the current 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo, developing around 100bhp. With the new Polo and upcoming A1 sharing lots of mechanical DNA, Audi may also choose to offer the A1 with the VW Group’s new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines – although the latter units are likely to appear first in the next A3.

When the A1 does get the new 1.5-litre engines, their range of outputs – from 90bhp to 160bhp – should give Audi enough options for the entire line-up, with the exception of the S1 hot hatch.
