International Supercar Crashes

Repair bill of Rowan Atkinson's McLaren F1 which was crashed in 2011 was revealed and is the biggest in UK. 910,000 GBP!! (in INR 7,70,22,400/-). Gulp!

The inevitable has happened, the first ever LaFerrari accident has been reported in Maranello, Italy. Looks like the truck tail-ended the LaFezza.

Sadly, this is NOT a testmule or company car, but a customer car which was undergoing final testings. Can only imagine the lump in the owner's throat.

Can you please tell why is it so, as in why they catch fire so quickly?

Is it because of the use of lightweight materials which rather catch fire quickly or some other reason?

Read that this P1 was crashed on the very next day of the delivery. Car was driven by a 27yr old and the passenger was 24yr old. The passenger's leg was broken.
