Ultimate hot hatch: Ford Focus RS500

According to the ....:::: Ford Focus RS500 ::::.... website, the limited edition Focus RS500 was supposed to be launched on 31st March. But apparently their site has been breached and pictures leaked out.

Powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder that gives 350 PS and 460 Nm of torque (that's 345 horsepower and 339 pound-feet to us Yanks), the RS500 offers an appreciable boost over the standard. Ford hasn't released full details yet, but the current RS hits 62 mph in under six seconds and blasts to 162 mph. Expect this one to be a tad faster.
With 19" wheels and matte black paint, i can't think of a hotter hatch than this one!

The RS500 is limited to 500 units in 20 EDM countries.

That is one REAL HOT hatch. And looks so damn good. *Drool* They should've called it the RS+ or something. But isn't 350 BHP thorough the front wheels really stretching it? But if they've somehow managed it, won't it suffer from the same problem that the EVO does? "Wrong gear = no acceleration" problem..

But the problem is this is FWD isnt it?350 ps of power to the front wheels! It will be diffucult to get all the power to the ground.
But who cares,this looks amazing!

350 horses going to the front wheels?! That's one too many, me thinks. It might have an electronic diff and everything but it will torque-steer to kingdom come!

Great looking hatch though!

WOW . What a machine. Ford focus has remained one of my fav hatch. Wonder when they will launch it in india. i mean if they could get it to india something like a base version which is cost effective and could be placed in the polo, figo segment.

Drool MAAL!!! How id wish to buy this baby. Ultimate FORD!
Hey man if JITU (HONDA CITY TURBO 400+ BHP) can manage it in his car. Iam sure ford has done something to handle this torque monster. But this is complete insane stuff. Love the looks, colour, everything.

Focus RS base version in Figo segment?

Its a hatch, doesn't mean it comes cheap!

He probably meant the base Ford Focus. Not the RS. But still, the Focus would find itself in Civic territory in terms of pricing if launched in India. And even if Ford contemplates launching the Focus here, we would only get to see its sedan avatar.

The Indian auto-market is yet to mature. It would take some time for people to digest expensive hatches.

Just saw clarkson's review about this car on topgear's website and came here to post about it and look what I've found!.
This one looks killer and the title does justice to the car.
62mph in <6.00 secs :O

This is proper drool stuff. The car looks awesome and the 350 bhp tot he front wheel. Thats going to be lots of fun. Cant wait for Clarkson to test this one. he loved the last one totally.
And as Suhaas said JC found the last car only to torque steer like a pig ,wonder how he finds this one.

Mind blowing!

I agree with people saying that this will have massive torque steer, unless they decide to add all wheel drive into the equation.
It looks fantastic.

i have seen a segment on this (older RS) on Top gear and believe me the FWD is not an issue.
Its as good as an EVO and sometimes better.

IMO, the car is a bit overdone, certainly deserves to be in the wierd & wacky mod thread

Hooo.... Thats hot. I just wet my pants!

Oh yeah, we can see all of them on our computer screens and Clarkson doing the Topgear TD. Don't think that Ford will release this car or even the base version here for some more time.

PS: @ Bean : totally disagree with you
