The first pic of black WR is the WR stingray.
These pics have been around for sometime now.

The Indian WR is based on the same platform as this WR, albeit with different engine and longer bonnet to accomodate the 1.0 L engine as against the Japanese 6xx CC turbocharged engines.

I dont think the first one is of the Stingray. AFAIK the stingray had a different look and a bumper.

Not sure whats the status of this car. This seems fit for an auto tranny, but not sure how a manual would be slot into the dash. If tghey do, then we are looking at a really short shifter and some minor change to the layout

AFAIK, this is the one for the japanese market.. its a bit smaller than the WagonR we have here...

This will be something very different in the Indian market, if by chance it does make it here. And talking of full becnh seats, it will take us back to the Ambassador car days.

I find the seats a little odd though. They could have made a neat centre console for storage etc. That would have made the interiors complete

Looking at the photo above it seems that the Wagon R grew up a bit. The leg room on dispaly in both the rows and the cargo space are enlightening and I just love those seats. Wish I had these in my car a decade and score ago



The instrument cluster all lit up like Diwali night only adds to the appeal. Bring it in Maruti without cutting down on specs and I will take two.

The Indian and current Japanese W-R have same doors and some interior bits and pieces. Rest platform is the same but some other body panels are different. A new Maruti wagon-r? Not before 2016.
