GM has an engine upgrade due for a long time across the whole spectrum.

- Beat Diesel is the introduction
- Cruze may not get a new engine, but definitely a whole range from 1 to 2L spectrum is untapped in the GM category.
- There should be something brewing up there. Sonic with a 1.4 or 1.6 CRDI would be the ideal new age rocket, with those wicked looks,

Looks pretty nice; A breath of fresh air. Its like a conservative version (albeit in a higher segment) of the Beat. But yeah, those rear drum brakes are a disappointment.

Hatch version looks more Beat-ish. I love the Sedan.
IMO projector lamps will enhance the look of this machine.

Thats a truly beautiful looking sedan! Lots of parts being taken from here and there. But if thats going to help Chevy to price it better, we dont mind! And the sedan look so compact - will it be spacious ?

Seem to be at par with the current Aveo sedan IMO, but a drastic change in the appearance, good looking.

Any idea when this good looking sedan might be launched. It would surely shake up the dzire/ manza class with its dynamic styling. I am so very much awed by this beauty.

That speedometer is to die for. I would love if Chevy plans something like that for the Cruze here.
It would make that hot car look even more hot. Imagine the all black interior Cruze with that speedo and instrument panel.

Superb looks.I loved the hatch more than the sedan though.The head lamp of the sedan could have been a bit more sober.The interiors looks like a cross between Beat and cruze.But the peach color on the dash reminds me of the figo.
Any idea of engine options while reaching India?

GM has got it right with the Spark, then with the Cruze. Now they just have to make it a perfect trio by Sonic ! Brilliant upgrade from the Aveo and Beat to the sonic !!

A perfect competition to the new Ford and Verna !!

This news on Indiancarsbikers might disappoint people who were waiting for Chevrolet Sonic replacing the Aveo twins, instead India will get the Chevrolet Sail Hatchback and Notchback.

Now that is bad news. Sail is something that atleast in my opinion will not do any good for the company, as its looks are pretty boring, compared to the Sonic.

This also does not entirely fit in with the new aggresive themed line up from GM

Too bad again. Just when they managed to change the game with the Cruze and Beat, they are bringing on these two that should set sail into the far seas and never return

Yesterday, at a relative's place, I was shocked to hear my wife yelling out at me seeing a TV ad in a malayalam channel for the 'all new Chevrolet Sonic'. I couldn't see it though. She told they showed three cars. Tried searching the net through the then available GPRS only to loose my patience over the slow connection and not to find much on the Sonic. Later, when I regained my senses, I guessed that it could be in the Emirates as that channel do show gulf ads for late night programs.

Today I searched the net to know more about the Sonic, but not much news on the Sonic for India, right? I think I had waken up this thread just to make it lie down again

Seems to be a promising model introduced by Chevrolet. It would use the same production line that of Beat. However, in this segment there are already lot of competitors and it would be difficult for Sonic to compete with them in India.

It might have decent sales numbers once launched in India.
