One of the best races in the calendar is here.
I think most of us had forgotten this .

It has been raining in spa as usual. Whatever be the weather condition, race is going to be exciting.

Qualifying going on. Shumi lost rear wheel an crashed.

Is it a sabotage or error from the tyre mechanic.

Vettel beats Hamilton to pole.
Grid is mixed up a bit because of rain which should make race interesting.

Renault have replaced heidfeld with senna, and he is immediately quicker than petrov.

ESPN/Star sports decided to give this a miss and show football. Why does f1 get this treatment?

Good qualifying session, changing conditions brought in a few surprises.
Button out in Q2 and Alonso languishing in 8th.

Will be interesting to see the start with Vettel and Hamilton on front row.

Qualifying was interesting and the top 10 has mixed entries.
Schumacher's crash in Q1 and Button's misunderstanding in Q2 was unexpected
The action between Hamilton and Pastor Maldonado in Q2, i think it's on Stewards Investigation. Looking forward for a wet race tomorrow.

Re: F1 2011 - Belgian GP - Spa-Francorchamps

Bad qualifying session for Force India on its favorite circuit. It looked like Di Resta expected Kovalainen to finish behind him in the last lap in Q3 and hence he didn't finish his last lap and entered the pits. If that was true then its real stupidity. Unfortunately Sutil crashed. They missed out on a great opportunity to finish in Top 8.

From what I read in the commentary, di resta had a spin which must have ruined his lap. If he can get through the first lap tomorrow, we can expect him to finish higher.

The Spin happened in the last but one lap. Yes, they assumed that Di Resta will end up in 17th and hence entered the pits without completing the last lap. I have pasted his comments below(extract from en.espnf1.com)

"Unfortunately it started raining again and I got caught out at the chicane and spun on what would have been my quickest lap. On the next lap the team called me in thinking the track was wet and that we were safe, but when I got back to the pits they told me that Kovalainen had gone quicker, which knocked me out of qualifying. It's really frustrating because there was a lot more to come and we could have been much further up the grid."

As you said, now they will have look for a good start since this track gives lots of overtaking opportunities.

Why is this guy still allowed to race in F1?

A better resolution video of the incident.

I hope the FIA takes back his F1 super license!

These changing conditions can be tricky. Button went from P3 to P12 in the last minute thinking he had one more lap.
Now the grid is nicely mixed up which should be good. Watch out for Schumi starting from P24 on his 20th anniversary race.

Are you referring to Hamilton or Maldonado?
Stewards think it was Maldonado's fault and he will drop 5 places in the grid.
Formula 1

May be this incident has something to do with Monaco incident between the two.

Overall interesting race, the initial stint until the safety car was fantastic with plenty overtakings, feel bad for Lewis though. Great drive by Button and Schumi.

The Redbull train just marches on. The way Vettel is going, he should cruise to his second consecutive championship with his eyes closed. Button and Schumacher were mighty impressive too, both pushing hard from the back.

And Hamilton seems to be a perpetual crash magnet, even on a day were the fault did not lie with him. An incident involving Hamilton is almost a given at every race weekend it seems.

Vettel is on fire and Schumi is still too good.As far as Hamilton is concerned, either its his fault or someone elses but every race has some or other 'incident' related to him.

Another 1-2 for Redbulls but it was Button and Scumacher who had good recovery drives. Hamilton was unlucky to crash out. Sutil had a decent drive to 6th and now Force India look set to overtake Sauber in standings.
There were some brave moves at Eau rouge particulary webber on alonso.
