I agree but I cannot see Kimi playing second fiddle to anyone, certainly not to MS. And, as mentioned by Shuvc, Ferrari would make a distinction between 1 & 2....unless of course, they officially make Kimi # 1 & make MS #2

This is one of the clause in Kimi-Ferrari Agreement that he should be given equal No.1 driver's status. As he is not Barichello or Massa who were more than happy being Ferrari's No.2

Interesting story... next year could be Kimi winning the Champioship in a Ferrari?

http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns17304.html

Whispers from Maranello

Our story on Monday suggesting that Michael Schumacher might retire did not get any official response from Ferrari but it did flush out a number of helpful remarks from people who are apparently in the know about what is happening at Maranello.

The word seems to be that Michael is not retiring and Jean Todt is not leaving the team, but that Michael will be partnered next year by Kimi Raikkonen, while Felipe Massa will become a very highly paid test driver for another year or two. At 25 Massa is still relatively young in F1 terms although seven of the 23 others drivers to have raced this year are younger (Fernando Alonso, Tonio Liuzzi, Sakon Yamamoto, Scott Speed, Christian Klien, Robert Kubica and Nico Rosberg). Schumacher seems to have accepted that he will have equal status with Raikkonen next year and so will be able to measure himself against the Finn before he retires.

The risk is that Michael will be beaten - unlikely given that the team has been built around him - but he seems willing to go down that path in order to show that he can beat the best of them in equal machinery.

Kovalainen replaces Alonso for 2007

http://www.f1racing.net/en/news.php?newsID=129024

Kovalainen replaces Alonso
Having confirmed Giancarlo Fisichella as a 2007 race driver last June, Renault announced this morning that current test driver Heikki Kovalainen, 24, will race alongside him in 2007.

Ok... so that kinda seals Kimi's move! So is it Kimi and Schumi or Kimi and Massa!!! Sunday is gonna be a BIG day!

so kimi's not going to renault
he's not staying at mclaren
( if he wanted to he would have signed already )

so that leaves us with ferrari..

i dont see the MS-KR pairing racing together
(shumi is too chicken to go 1 on 1 against kimi & kimi will want nothing of being a 'team player')
..which brings me to the only logical conclusion that shumi is retiring !

WHOA !

has the fat lady sung ?

If Michael is the chicken then Kimi must be the earthworm.

These news are all speculations because none other than Michael and Ferrari bosses know what is going to happen, but i guess he will probably retire,i wish it dosen't happen though.

As per ACI, Michael is considering a one time $100 Million deal to drive for BMW only for teh 2008 season. How will that happen if he retires in 2007?!!!!

renault are going to have a pretty weak driver line-in in 2007..
fisi isnt aggresive enough and Kovalainen is too inexperienced to lead the charge for the title

it looks like alonso will battle a red car again in 2007

Thats what BMW are dreaming about and not Schumacher and it also says that after Schumi hangs up his helmet he will be given Managerial role at BMW. But i don't think it will ever happen.

Ferrari 2007 driver lineup.

http://www.ferrariworld.com/events/m...monza02_en.pdf

Ferrari's official press release. Kimi signs on for 2007 to 2009. Massa signs on til end of 2008.
2007 line-up: Raikonnen and Massa
test driver: Luca Bordelli
Seems like Ferrari are gearing up for another winning pair... just like Schumacher and Barrichello. (pretty sure Massa wont be too pleased to read this )

The way Ferrari race, they dont need good drivers. All they need is people who have influence in the FIA, and driver who are alright with driving for teams which cheat.
