Re: Formula 1 : 2016 British Grand Prix - Silverstone

Hamilton surfed on the crowd support to win his 4th British GP. 3 in a row.

Mercedes says they intent to appeal, however it seems unlikely based on the regulations as understood (shown below).

Nico was clearly instructed to change chassis default to 0 and to avoid 7th gear by Paddy Lowe and not by his race engineer, wonder why?

Championship Standings as of now.

Fernando did try for a cheeky fastest lap honor towards the end for the McLaren fans. Only to be denied by Nico.

Here's how the race happened in graphs.

Interestingly Pirelli had prescribed maximum laps for the various tyres. 26 for the Hard, 28 for the Medium and 15 for the Soft. Still they insist that tyre failure last week was definitely caused by debris. Now waiting for this max. lap “recommendation” to be included in regulations.

The other side of Safety car starts was clearly seen as it looked like everyone below P4 dove for Inters into the pits as the leaders stayed out. Hulkenberg almost taken out by Toro Rosso in pits.

Red Bull looks to have properly gone past Ferrari and with Allison coming back at the Scuderia, hopefully they will turn things around as well.

McLaren more than held their ground on a power hungry track like Silverstone and that bodes well for the rest of their season as well.

Re: Formula 1 : 2016 British Grand Prix - Silverstone

Verstappen is going up the ladder really fast. His move on Roseberg was superb. Also, now Ricciardo is under pressure because Verstappen has finished above Ric in almost all the races except one.

Good to see Force Indian back in points and now they are closer to Williams for P4.

Overall not so boring race, thanks to the wet condition.

True Story that!
Also, silly of F1 Stewards to penalize Nico for something which I think is perfectly okay (understand there needs to be rules but come on, this is a race and sometimes things happen)
Nice job by Sahara Force India - both in points.
That Verstappen drives like crazy, I am beginning to like him more than Bottas these days.
