Mclaren have a policy in place. whoever qualifies ahead gets to choose the pit stop strategy. Hence Alonso got to chose when he would stop. He played it perfectly.

He was alway in control. Didn't try to push his tyres too hard, was happy to sit behind Lewis, as he knew he'd get his chance with the pit stop. Once he was ahead, it was clear he had the pace on Lewis.

Hamilton lost the 2nd position when he was stuck behind the backmarkers during his in lap(stop 2),it must have cost him around 2 secs and when it was Alonso's turn to come in he was clear of traffic and put in a nice in lap and place lost for Hami.

what is suprising is how competent he was in his first race though he did venture out in the grass twice, much much better that what Heki drove especially when u consider that he was a test driver for renault last year.

I was there for the F1 and i should say it was one hell of an experience. The noise of the engine is awesome

Am sure the experience was kill-ah! A bunch of us Team-BHPians are going to be there in Malaysia. Can hardly wait :D

Its all about engine noice. You can hardly see the cars as they are so fast. Make sure you get a place next to a slow turn. Study the circuit map before you go. You would want to be in one of the accident prone area. You will not want to move once the race starts. so decide before.

So the 2nd race of the season is just a week away. The teams like Ferrari, McLaren, Renault n all look pretty much up for the constructors championship this year. Ferrari n Kimi got off to a fantastic start this season, and now only if they can keep it goin...

Hope Massa gets going this time, without gettin probs with his car.

karthik

just renamed your thread. The Ferraris were on top in practice and hamilton put in a good once in 3rd practice. So lets get the predictions coming in. Qualifying in progress as I type this post.

Scuderia Ferrari grabs Pole!:Cheering:

Top-4 Qualifying Results
1. Felipe Massa
2. Fernando Alonso
3. Kimi Raikonnen
4. Lewis Hamilton

GO Ferrari, GO!!!!!!!!!!!:Cheering:

A head to head between Ferrari and Mclaren taking the top two rows. Didnt see the session but Rosberg has done well for himself well slotting into 6th I guess.

Should be a fabulous race tom and i'm sure our boys out there will have a blast.

Massa saved our day just when it looked like Mclaren took pole position by Alonso.

It was interesting at the last moment. Kimi took pole, Fonso pipped him and then he was pipped by Felipe soon after.

Massa looks good to take the race 2morrow,from what can be made out kimi is slightly heavier than Massa and Alonso is running pretty light to get into a good postion at start of the race,in race pace the mclaren is no match for the ferrari.

Well as long as any Ferrari wins, I have no problem with that!! Go Ferrari!!

P.S. Enjoy the race guys!!

its going to be real interesting this sunday specially the first corner....for now it really doesnt matter if ferrari win the race as long as Mclaren finish first and second again.

a ferrari 1 and 2 this weekend, with Alphonso in 3rd.
