Honda pulls out of F1

Forget 2010, there is enough drama for 2009 season.

Honda to quit F1?

Thats really sad for F1.

This economic downturn may still put more dramas off the track for year 2009 & 2010.

I wonder what Ross Brawn would do now? I seriously hope he comes back to where he belongs .

First they cancel the Montreal Grand Prix and now Honda is on the verge of pulling out of F1. I'm wondering if I should even watch Formula 1 in 2009.

God save F1! Cosworth maybe the single engine supplier for 2010

Honda has confirmed the exit.

This will have serious implications on all teams. The FIA will be hellbound to cut cost and keep the teams racing. They will push for single engines which I hear will be Cosworth.

Ferrari and Toyota have already issued pull out warnings over the single engine.

The sport wont be same anymore.

God save F1

Honda pulls out of F1

This warrants a new thread... Honda has decided to pull the plugs of its F1 effort in 2009. The team is up for sale, that means no more probability of seeing Jenson or Brawn on the grid for a while. The reason for pullout is the economic crisis. Good to see Alonso not signing up for Honda.

Surely would make many bhpians reconsider there car purchases, given the fact that a team like Honda is seeing such bad times, what would happen to aam aadmi?

There's already a discussion on this topic on the 2009 F1 thread.

Bad results may also have influenced their decision. They stopped their U.S diesel plans and now this.

Your statement should read bad results have influenced their decision. Cause we all saw what Honda did in 2007 & 2008. Absolutely nothing.

Max & Bernie's ideas have got us so far.

Take back Formula1 racing to its olden days. Let the teams do what they want(which is safe) and make their cars fast or crap!

Changing regulations every season often costs a lot to the teams who are bound to invest a lot in their R&D. And its only Bernie & Max to be blamed here!

Don't know about Max & Bernie, but the regulations are not changed overnight. Major decisions are taken years in advance and all teams budget accordingly. Some of the major changes have only made the sport easier to afford for smaller teams. This is the only fact Force India is even a reality today. Do you think with unlimited budgets Force India would be a team?

Can you make a rough guess of how much teams have spent on the KERS development for the 2009 Season!?

In 2008 there was a engine freeze rule declared until 2012! How much money did the teams invest on getting into the R&D of this? And its all lost when the single engine rule is now proposed and the engine freeze was called off.

I am not saying it should be unlimited budget. It should be limited budget but let the teams develop anything which can make their cars go quick and be ultra safe as now!

Then the No-Overtaking in F1 cry by Bernie & the world will be answered well by the drivers on the track.

Correct. It's just that since morning a detailed discussion on this topic is going on in that thread. Maybe people are not aware about this one and you could post a link to this thread there.
