I'm also a designer (Industrial Design). Unfortunately I didnt take up the profession, but I did do some work for GM and Volkswagen in some internships.

Which college are you from and what company to you work in?

This bike model is really great, reminds me of my college days when I used to make car models on Solidworks.
Thanks Foxbat,

GM & Volkie are good MNC companies buddy. good for you to get internship in them.

When I was in my 8 th standard, I got myself a block of wood & carved a dodge viper out of it using a chisel & hammer. At that age I did not know a lot about machines & just went ahead with whatever I thought was possible. I wanted to make a model of the viper as I loved it dearly (you know the kind of pure passion & dedication we have towards our liking in that age..&...ofcourse not missing the girls..)
Since I did not knw carving in wood & about the tools used in it, I approached a carpenter who made carved designs in wooden doors. I got a 10 mins lesson there & headed to buy tools & block of wood for myself. I was cheated by the tool seller & the wood seller in the price...lol! When I started carving I got some cuts, brusies & lot of shouting from parents & neighbours for the sound that I was creating in a society. It took me nearly a month to carve it out of that square block & u won`t imagine the kind of joy I got after all that efforts put into it. I will post some pics of that viper soon after getting the red paint off the it.
I had started a lamborghini diablo in wood, but ended it in middle as soon as I noticed clay (sadu mitti) as an easy option to design. I styled a ferrai Enzo in it then a Mustang. Then I got to know about polymer clay & plasticine which got mitti thrown out of my head & house (got lot of scouldings from my mother to create a mess in the house...dreadful days..lol!)

Its just a short part of my life as a teen trying to bring in the world what was in my mind & soul.
I know there are so many talented Indians out there who have the capacity to make a major change in the society with their skills. Hope they get the resources they deserve & wish them all the best.

Do not leave us out. Do post regularly about your own and other interesting creative designs. Let us, aam admi, non-designers also share some of the excitement. May be you could start a new thread.
And all TBHPians from Pune, do take care, till the flu scare subsides.
Thanks Profold,

Will keep posting & wont leave you all buddies out :-)

Take care & watch out from that flu

Oh !...Thats how modern R&D facilities are :-( All the work is broken up into specialised personals.
I personaly like to work with machines & computers under the same roof as it is more satisfying to the mind, gives a bost to thinking & brings forth solution to a particular problem quickly. If its only computer work, I get bored, but after all can`t deny the work of a computer regarding cost & time

So which software do you use for Dynamic Analysis ?

Yeah. It would have been better to have a testing facility too. Though we know theoritically, we have no practical experience. We use permas for dynamic analysis.

Its impossible for an individual to own a software like UG unless he is willing to shell out lacs of rupees for a single module. Mine is connected to the main server & I don`t own it.

That was expected. Dude, another question. the designs that you posted here, are they part of your office work or your freetime work?
