What i fail to understand is why cant Maruti put clear lens Tail lamps?!!!..
It Maruti put clear tail lamps from day one then what would MUL do with it's six monthly launches of the 'all new' 'improved' Swift?

Nice pictoral thread though. Good unique idea put into action.

Haha! Yeah, well said. Surely there are some standards in advertising in this country? It's been a peeve of mine for ages that they say "ALL NEW" when they've changed the lights or the colour of the upholstery or something like that. I mean the least they can do is drop the word ALL from their ads.

Excellent

Great review.. learned a thing or two about the small differences between the car including spare alloy wheel for Getz and the space wizard system. The second feature alone increases the usability quotient of the Getz.

I think the auto magazines can learn a thing or two about comparing vehicles.

Great job.

With Regards

Amazing post, great review with lots of efforts. Kudos kbk_75

This holds more importance as I have seen many people getting very much confused when deciding between a getz & Swift & such comparisons will surely help in takinga decision.

Greats Efforts

Spare wheel in Swift is now alloy

This is no longer true--since mid-April 2006.

Maruti is replacing the spare steel rim 165/80 tyre on Swift ZXi cars with a standard 185/70 alloy for free. Seems this campaign started mid-April and will continue till mid-June. The chassis numbers where replacement will be done for free are between 100101 and 157409--considering that's about the number of Swifts Maruti has sold till date (Autocar India said around 53000 were sold in FY 2005-06), it would seem all ZXi owners can avail of this free replacement. And it seems pretty obvious all new Swifts would come with an alloy as a spare wheel.

Well, that's good to hear. I think it was inexcusable that they didn't offer a fifth alloy wheel in the first place, but it's heartining to hear of an Indian manufacturer doing something that will cost them, for free.

What is not so good is that they aren't making this abundantly clear to all Swift owners, by sending them a letter informing them of this campaign.

I dont think so, from what I have known most of the brands abroad do the same & even the palio 1.6 had steel rim as spare(the car costed in the 6L range) Its definetely applaudable that they are giving away a new alloy\tyre for free.
