Congrats Jaspal. i20 is indeed a great buy when compared to its competitors. We had bought an i20 CRDI sportz in AUG 2011, probably mine was the first CRDI i20 which came from the 5 speed grearbox lot out here in Aurangabad. It used to be 6 gears earlier.

We also had got the steel spare wheel. When enquired I was told that the Asta O also came with the steel wheel. Some practice Hyundai shared with the Germans I guess and I don't like that.

Wish you all happy and safe miles, also you may visit Wildon's thread - you will get most of the features explained in detail.

The white does look nice especially with the well-matched alloys.

Do post some interior snapshots and keep updating your thread.

Wish you many miles of trouble free ownership
Thanks anup and everyone else on the thread..

While buying alloys i was clear that i want 5 spoke alloys( much easier too clean!), with blackend border. This combo looks great on white color cars.
I'm not a fan of chrome or shiny alloys.

Below are some pics taken after 1st service at 1507 Km.
Please excuse the average quality of pics.

Thanks a lot. The alloys go really well with the car. There is one hitch though. I hate the steering wheel. No offence but I have never liked this one. The one that comes in ASTA is sexy but this one just doesnt go with the car.

Many Congratulations Jaspal on the i-20.
A great looking car which I always admired and love it for its premium up-market feel.

As many of them who intend to buy it would have this question in mind, Could you please post your initial FE figures? I heard that previous generation i-20 used to give a very meager Fuel efficiency figures?

Also your views on how the AC chills up the cabin and if there were any steering rattling issues observed by you till now?

Hi,
This is for all i20 owners here, I and my cousin booked our i20 Asta diesel 10days ago, and my cousin has already taken the delivery.

We both did feel the turbo lag at low rpms and hence got the K&N stock replacement air filter. We get this for every car we buy from past 10 years as we love it for the little jump in the low rpm power delivery.

The car is now pretty good at low revs and i can say, the turbo lag is HALF eliminated!

Cost: Rs.5,000/-
Recommended it: ABSOLUTELY! Get this the first thing you buy any car!

Does Hyundai's ACC go as low as 15.5 ??? I thought it'd stop at 18 and cannot go below that.

Yes it does! the earlier i20 's ACC use to go till 16c.
this has been highlighted in team-bhp's official review of the new i20 as well.

Heartiest congratulations on the new i-20. Good choice. Those alloys are damn good and they gel well with the overall appearance.

Surprised to see that the rear doors do not have pockets. Weird! And why only one reverse light? Does that save a lot of cost or what?

Rear fogger is fantastic new feature.

Dude, you need to upload some better pics of the car. It deserves much better pics than the ones you've uploaded already.

Wishing you many more happy miles with the Coral White Beauty.

Thanks ajay...
Rear doors without door pockets is a big disappointment in an otherwise flawless interior. No idea about how much hyundai can save by offering single reverse lamp, it looks really cheap,is a safety hazard and is surely a step backward.

so far the car has been returning 11 kmpl in city driving condition with 100% AC use. the car has done 1700 kms and 1st service was carried out at 1500km. I'm waiting for the next tankful to see whether their has been any improvement.
The auto AC works flawlessly and chills the cabin in reasonable time. Since i drive alone never got the opportunity to check cooling at the back. But a friend of mine who owns 2011 sportz model did mention how the AC on new i20 feels better than on the old one. The blower speed in Auto mode is extremely sensitive to the temp setting. Hyundai has also introduced "Clean air ", system though i can't comment how much difference it makes to the quality of air.
Haven't experienced any steering rattle or any thing like that..!

yes the simple steering is too boring when compared to the otherwise well appointed interior. The leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls in sportz and asta variants is much better.
i wonder if getting a high quality steering wheel cover be of any help??
