A small update, the Linea completed 7000 clicks today morning.

Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed-7000-km.jpg

A small rattle has cropped up on the left front door. This should be the wiring to the power window switch which is moving around and hitting the metal inside when driving on rough roads, need to fix it before it starts to get irritating.

Wanted to pick up a set of wipers to use them only on highways drives. The ones replaced under warranty does not have the price.

How much does it cost?

Left Front door rattle is achilles heel for a Linea,i fixed it by using 2 damping sheets.

Here you go:
Part no.:0051830749 Wiper blade FR LH Rs617/-
Part no.:0051830748 Wiper blade FR RH Rs617/-

Strangely the shorter one also costs the same.

This seems a bit highly priced. The hella Dynablade wipers cost much lesser in comparison and also the pricing varies according to size.

But the Hella blades cannot be mounted on the FIAT. :Frustrati

A small update on the car.

Got the Wheel balancing and alignment done again as the Car was sort of wobbling between 70-100 kmph speeds. This problem started after the alloy wheel bend was removed and the person who removed the wheel forgot to balance it again. Did not want to take a chance, so called up Nikhil and requested for a slot at Madhus Enterprises.

The below things were done. For the problem of wobbling has sort of disappeared. Was able to reach only till 80 kmph. Will reserve the comments till I hit higher speeds.

Total cost was INR. 680/- after special discount for teambhpians. I did not mention to him that I was teambhpian, probably they spotted the stickers and gave the discount.

A big thumps to the guys there for the work done on the car :thumbs up

Will I visit again for the alignment and balancing, a resounding YES.

NKP, have you installed the new moulded mudflaps (from the Absolute edition) on your car? I was thinking of doing it for my Linea, but wanted to check if it was worth it.

No I have not installed that on the car yet. Though the mudflaps look asthetically good, not really sure of how much of splashing it will stop.

Let me wait for a few more days and observe a few cars with these mudflaps before I take the plunge.

The current ones though look ugly atleast is doing its intended job satisfactorily.

Got the low beam bulbs changed to Osram Silver Star H7 55 W type bulbs. These bulbs give out a claimed 50% more light and 20% longer beam.

The bulbs looks

The immediate difference once can make out is the low beam reaches a bit more ahead than normal, the beam slightly brighter and broader too.

Have not taken the pics in the dark yet. But the silver stars for now is doing a good job.

Already have the high beams replaced on Day 1 to silver star. So the combo is yielding good results.

Hi

My Linea MJD is due for its 45,00 Km service this weekend.
Oil Change will likely be a part of the service.

For changing the oil to Mobil1 Devlac, do I buy it from some outside shop and give it to service centre guys to pour in. Will they be willing to change oil from an external source?

Which one should I go for Mobil1 Devlac 5W - 40 OR Mobil1 Devlac 0W - 40?

I guess you meant 45000 kms service or 4500 kms service.

If its 4500/5000 kms service, please get the selenia for now and then go for Devlac at 15000 kms service. If its 45000 kms service, please go ahead with the Mobil Devlac 0W-40 if the budget is not a constraint.

But before you purchase the oil, please check with the service advisor as they can refuse to put oil you bought from outside and will insist on the Selenia. The only reason I can think about is the money lost on selling oil to you for the service center. The Devlac 0W-40 is superior to Selenia in every possible way. I see no reason for Fiat dishonour the warranty just in case the SA tells you about the warranty thing.

Kindly with your SA and update us too :)

Got the stock horns replaced with the Windtone Horns. No wire cutting nothing. The couplers were found, plugged it in and taped it. Now the horns sound like the VW's/Skoda's horn.

The work was done at Evo - Cambridge Layout.

The picture of how the horns are fit inside the front grill.

With this horn, the road users in front do notice the car when honked.

The roots windtone horn can cost anywhere between 500 to 700 bucks depending on where you buy and how much you can bargain for.

Who ever installs it, ensure no wires are cut or even sleeved. If you are patient enough, you can find the small connector pin which can found from the bikes. This will ensure a plug and play, if you feel like switching back to stock horns, it will be a 10 mins DIY job.

Krishna, was the bumper removed or just the grille? Changing horns is a tedious process for a DIY. I have done exactly what you have while the car was still new, however now one of them have gone kaput, am driving around with just one for past 3 or 4 months. :P

Rufus, they cost around 500-600. There are two models, the costlier ones are moulded and come in red.
