Fiats are not owned, they are possessed!!

Thanks mate. I am still a beginner with the photography and keeps seeking help from my friend most times.

Completely agree with the statement "Fiats are not owned, they are possessed"

Buddy, great car. Lovely pictures. Congrats!

Question regarding underbody protection coat? Don't all the Lineas come with underbody coat from the factory itself?

They do come, people do it for added protection.

Fiat also gives anti perforation warranty for 4 or 6 years, dont remember.

The sales and service people told me that the car comes with the anticorrsion treatment from the plant. The anti corrosion warranty is for 7 years I believe.

I simply got it done for additional safety.:thumbs up

Congrats on your new vehicle. FIAT Linea is a very nice car to Own. In fact any FIAT current gen cars are very good vehicles. I had a BNW Punto MJD which I recently sold and am planning for the upgrade. Linea is one of my cars on the short list, just unable to decide between a SUV or a Sedan and hence the decision has become a little delayed. The cars that I am currently following are as follows - Linea Emotion, Optra Magnum, Safari Storme and Renault Duster.

Hopefully will be able to arrive at a decision soon and probably it will be a Linea only as that is what my heart keeps on saying.

Congrats again on your car.

Congratulations on your possession. I own a Fiat Punto 1.4 E+ and planning to upgrade it to a Diesel Sedan. I cannot think beyond Fiat Linea 1.3 Emotion after driving a Punto for 3 years. Fiat has become a benchmark in terms of safety, looks, features, comfort and after comparing other cars could not find a better one in the same class or budget.

Keep us posted on you experiences.

Hope I am not hijacking nkrishnap's thread. :)

There is no more Optra Magnum. This car has been discontinued. Now, that you will have to decide only between a Sedan and SUV. If sedan its Linea all the way as per your list.

If SUV, go for Storme instead of the 5 seater Duster. The interiors appeared too cheap to me when I test drove this vehicle. Remember that this is no match for the ride, comfort and safety of Linea.

Sorry to hijack - Optra Magnum is still very much available in the Diesel format and I was surprised when I heard about it. Drove one today (friends car) and was blown away by the engine and the amount of leg space available both in front and back.

I think lets take this discussion to a new What Car thread that I will start soon.

Kailash

I will be dropping in to the Prerana Dealership to have a look at the car pad. This brought about a bit of interest in me.

Also I have placed the order for the illuminated (FIAT) door sill plates. Let me see if it has arrived so that I can get it installed.

What is this lacquer coating and where did you get it done from? How often does this need to be repeated? The engine bay looks clean. :)

I see you have added rain visors too. Have you noticed any increase in the wind noise? Also was it installed from some aftermarket shops or from Fiat OEM stuff itself?

This the clear coat paint on the engine. The lacquer coating will be once in its lifetime.

The door visors have had minimal impact of I believe. Because I took the delivery after this was installed by the dealer. Believe this is OEM stuff

Those 16" wheels are fantastic. Every T-jet i see on the road has those trademark wheels. Recently saw a Linea diesel being revved hard, and I was thinking when did T-jets start smoking like diesels... Until i saw the car from the back. It was the 2012 linea Mjd !

Hi Krishna,

Congrats on your purchase!! Your car looks like a million bucks, and your photographs make your car look absolutely drool worthy - I guess I have an ulterior motive for saying so - coz I too have a White Linea, TJet+.

You pics of the Chikmaglur trip reminded me of my trips with my Linea where I have clicked several photos from similar angles. Dont want to Hijack your thread but just posting the pic below!!

Nothing to be hijacked on this thread, since what you posted it about Linea.

My car is in a similar state as your in the photo as I had been to a remote place yesterday covering about 400 kms. It now needs a proper wash.

A small update. The odo stands at 3808 as of now.

8th Refill - 171 kms - 13.17 litres (BPCL RR Nagar) - 12.98 kmpl completely inside city

9th Refill - 296 kms - 19.21 litres (BPCL - Hassan) - 15.41 kmpl - 40% in very bad city traffic.

10th Refill - 392.8 kms - 20.02 litres (IOCL - Lalbagh Road) - 19.62 kmpl - 90% highways.

11th Refill - 152 kms - 12.22 litres (BPCL RR Nagar) - 12.43 kmpl. Mad city traffic. One such trip took about 1.5 hrs from Dairy Circle to RT Nagar

12th Refill - 314 kms - 17.73 litres (BPCL RR Nagar) - 17.68 kmpl. A drive again with 50 odd kms through village roads crawling through muddy roads.

Time to clean the air filter. Seems like clogged.

By the way I have a K&N stock airfilter which I took from my end, who changed his diesel punto to Tjet. Just thoroughly cleaned it and looking to plonk it in the Linea. Now the gurus please suggest if this is ok to done with the odo standing at 3808 kms.
