Hi Krishna, did you manage to get any info about the carpad. Is it being sold in retail to willing customers??
Over the weekend i asked about the carpad at the Tata-Fiat dealership here in Navi Mumbai - but they informed me that the carpad was not being sold retail and was available only with the Absolute Edition of Lineas.

Just wanted to check if you had better luck!!

The car pad is actually nice with the FIAT logo comes as the start up instead of whatever comes when you buy from MMI. The dealer is indeed willing to sell it individually to the retail customer.

The absolute edition items are made available not only in package, but also one can choose the listed items individually (the old customers).

I had changed the normal air to Nitrogen in the first week after the car was bought. Now how often do I need to check the tyre pressure. Should it be again at the Nitrogen filling center.

Also Planning to get the first inspection/service done at around 4000 kms (I know the scheduled one is at 5000 kms) as I might do another 2000 kms round trip. Planning to change the engine oil in this service. Can I go ahead and change to Shell Helix Ultra or Mobil Dev-lac (if available), because I saw a decent improvement in the refinement in my friend's Punto which earlier had Helix Engine oil?

Too many questions to ponder on for me currently.

Completed 4000 kms today morning on the way to office.



Thats about 117.76 kms per day.

The city mileage is currently hovering around 13.9 kmpl with 100% AC and moderate to heavy city traffic.

Superb pictures. I am using Nitrogen for my Palio tyres for almost 3 years now and I have not faced any problems.

You will have to go again to top up at the Nitrogen filling center. I usually top up evey 3 weeks or so, but it is important to do a visual check of the tyres just in case one of the tyres has less pressure.

Your car looks lovely in white, how hard is it to maintain white colour?

Ideally you should get your tyres filled up again every month or whenever you refuel, whichever is earlier.
Even switching back to air in a nitrgen filled tyre is not a problem. After all air is 78% nitrogen.
I always go to the same guy for a top up since he gives free top ups :D
He charged 40 bucks a tyre for the first time and now offers unlimited top ups.

Thanks for the input on Nitrogen. I keep a close watch on the tyres especially. They seem to be in order for the past month or so. Let me see if I can get the tyre pressure checked at the next refill.

Actually speaking the white color is far easier to maintain than Red one (Liva) I earlier had. So content on that aspect. Also even if the swirl marks are there, it is quite difficult to spot them on white.

I simply love the BNW color and Siddu's boys help me keep the car looking brand new. I am really thankful to Siddu and his boys, as they take care of my car like their own :).

Yes the car AC is a chiller and GC is not a problem at all with the Linea now. I am taking it places where I would not have taken any other sedan clap:.

The FIAT never let me off at the first place. Used to drive the Punto and Palio quite often. So was never out of the FIAT thingy at all.

Let me make this a monthly activity of checking the tyre pressure and top up if necessary with Nitrogen itself.

I bought the H7/H1 Ceramic holder wiring kit and the respective bulbs today.

The cost details are below.

1) Ceramic Wiring kit with Relay (Safeline Make) - Rs. 450/-. Note Safeline is the only make available for this combination in Bangalore.

2) Philips Essential Vision H7 80W for low beam - Cost Rs. 350/- per bulb

3) Philips Essential Vision H1 100W for high beam - Cost Rs. 160/- per bulb.

Now the question is after I get the ceramic holder wiring kit installed, Can I still safely use the 55W H1 bulb or the bulb upgrade to 100W is mandatory?

13th Refill - 246 kms - 17.85 litres - 13.78 kmpl (finally breached the 13 kmpl barrier for city huh!)

Got the illuminated door sill plates installed on the car today. Cost Rs. 2,560/-

14th Refill - 216 kms - 16.8 litres - Actual 12.86 kmpl - MID 13.1 kmpl

Booking the next Saturday for 1st service. Will get the oil and oil filter changed at this service.

Can anyone provide me the details of the place where I can buy Mobil1 Devlac 5W - 40 or 0W - 40. Pricing details also will help :). If this is not available, I will go with the Shell Helix Ultra 5W - 40.
