Nice Report there Mahadev!
Wish you many more miles on your 1.6 beast!

Canary Yellow is another head turner color for Palio!
If I had a option to repaint my Car, will go for Canary Yellow for sure.

Excellent Fuel Mileage Status Report

Wondering how did you manage to pen down for every trips...

Suggestion: Add a graphical representation in your next fuel reports

Keep it up!

Cheers~

Nothing, it takes just 2 minutes to open the laptop and enter all the details. I just used to note the kms logged and delta on fuel receipts and enter those data onto the excel sheet, so that I will keep a tab on it on how much I'm spending, and also a kind of ready reckoner to file fuel spending bills to company to avail tax benefits

Wonderful fuel record. I wonder how one would maintain if there are more than one driver but only one is keen on maintaining record!

Neat job anyway.

Body roll? What tyres are you running your 1.6 on?

I recently shifted to Michelin PP2 from Good Year GPS2 and there is whole world of difference. PP2 is zillion times better than GPS2 and you can really *throw* the car around corners with so much of confidence. Body roll reduces considerably.

I strongly recommend if you have not already upgraded to fatter rubber.

My car is on stock rubber, Bridgestone S322 Tube type. There is no vitamin M with me now. Thanks for the information.

Now updated to 22500 kms

Just finished 3rd paid service and cost totals to around Rs 7000/- at Manipal Motors Bangalore

But this includes
+3M interior cleaning (Rs 700)
+LF headlight assembly change (Rs 3450 + this includes bulbs too) (the headlight part was readily available)
+coolant change (Rs 400+)

The car is smoother as a new and mileage is also in the range of 10-11kmpl in city. Never ventured out, hence no latest highway mileage information.

one grouse about these service centers that they take away the paper-towels present inside the car.

Even when I gave the car for service at Prerana Motors, they misplaced the paper-towel box and more over the tools that is used to change the punctured tyre also replaced with a old and rusted one. I noticed only a month after and then did not complain

Manipal motors should overhaul their booking operations. Though I took an appointment, the service advisor did not knew or rather the person who keep tracks of booking forgot to note down. It happened twice. So every one who wish to give their car for service at Manipal motors (airport road, bangalore), confirm twice about booking schedule and time.

i thought that each head lamp cluster (for eg. left hand side one) costs around Rs. 1400/-.

That is what all spare parts rates are increased for palio after TATA took over the servicing.

All spare parts rates of palio are increased. Earlier, single alloy wheel costs around 5000/- and not it is increased to Rs 7800+

two types of headlamp cluster for palio (prices are for a single unit)
(without motorised) -> Rs 2300
with motorised -> Rs 3300
