Around 1.5 litres of brake fluid
Coolant around 5.5 or so litres (but you will need rather less as a lot of the old stuff will circulate around the engine)

So I should be fine with 1 liter of new brake fluid and 3-4 liters of coolant. Thank you.

Approximately. More or less depends on how much is drained out.

I purchased 5 Liters of Mol Dynamic Gold 5W-30 already. This is VW 505 01 conformant.
500ml of brake fluid is more than sufficient to flush the old fluid out and ensure fresh brake fluid is present in the system. Get multiple smaller quantity bottles, say, 200 or 250ml each than one big bottle. Brake fluid absorbs moisture. So if you buy a 1 litre bottle and do not use fully, then the remaining fluid in the bottle will go bad in a few months even if you tighten the bottle cap fully. With small bottles, as long as you do not open the seal you can keep them for a few years atleast or maybe return to the place of purchase.

On Coolant, Stick to the OEM coolant. Try to source the OEM coolant only. Do not go by color of coolant available in aftermarket. Check the coolant thread in the forum. Different brands of coolants although having same color may not have same composition. Mixing coolant of different composition is detrimental to the engine and water pump.

Thank you. I ordered 2 *1 liter bottles of brake fluid and 6 *1 liter bottles of coolant. I will try to flush the whole thing out and replace it all if possible.

I suspect DOT3 was mixed in previous service cycle. It has been 4+ years after I bought the vehicle, only top ups of brake oil and coolant so far. Let it have a good clean stuff for once.

At 3rd Year/45,000 you need to replace Brake Fluid. Completely drain it and refill again. Next time replacement after every 2 year, i.e. 5th, 7th year.

Coolant only needs a top up. No replacement. Its filled for life.

Lock cylinder lubricant is an optional and not required.

Why don't you service car Authorized Workshop? No hassle of sourcing parts and not that expensive.

I hear they'd update software patch and drivability goes for a toss, hence hesitant.

You can always refuse it.

I always send my Vento 1.6 TDi to VW Authorized Workshop and tell them specifically to not update the ECU for Dieselgate scandal.

Campaign Number: 23R7
Customer not given approval.

It ever Service Advisor doesn't toe the line, I tell them ask VW India to purchase back the car and do whatever they want to. Till I own the car, I decide what is to be done. SA always complies after it.

It may be late for now, will start trying that from next service onwards. BTW, which workshop you have been going to?

Re: Volkswagen Vento 1.6 TDI Highline (2010). EDIT: Now 2,00,000 km up

My Vento TDI is due for 1.80L kms Service. I've taken SVP Package in 2019 for 12777/- which includes TWO services. I've already availed a service and another one is pending.
Due to Covid, I'm in my hometown for more than a year, working with an authorized VW dealer to carry out the SVP service.

Who is the authorized dealer @Ramsagar? I am a little scared about Nellore & VW service. Last time my injector failed near Gudur and the one fitted by a local diesel works guy seems subpar. Second time, I was told by insurance agents getting parts is an issue. You may be ok, if you need parts for regular service.

Don't nother about my feel, it may be more sentimental

Re: Volkswagen Vento 1.6 TDI Highline (2010). EDIT: Now 2,00,000 km up

Hi Guys! My Polo 1.2 TDi recently clocked 1.34 lakh kilometres and I decided to purge it on a recommendation from a mechanic. So, I ordered the Liqui Moly Diesel Purge from motorpartsjunction.com and used it in my fuel tank. The noise of the engine along with the diesel clatter has significantly increased. I added half a tank of the purge liquid directly to the fuel tank when the fuel level was low as I was afraid to take apart the fuel hoses. My car has always run on Turbojet diesel from HP and is now clattering way too much with injector knocking post purging.

Can anyone let me know of the suspected reasons and the solution for this problem?

Re: Volkswagen Vento 1.6 TDI Highline (2010). EDIT: Now 2,00,000 km up

Was your car constipated or something that you felt it needed a purgative?

If the engine is clean and sludge free, and if you're anyway filling premium diesel .. these purges are strong solvents that try to dissolve grease and sludge. If your fuel system doesn't have any of that sort, then guess what else gets acted on by the solvent.

And if there's any sludge actually there and it gets partially dissolved you get chunks of sludge circulating around your fuel system, and directly into your injectors.

Get the injectors checked and if necessary, cleaned up. Find a specialist injector service place, VW will ask you to replace the whole lot while removing them and cleaning with a high pressure machine might help.

Hey! We are buying a pre-owned VW Vento 1.6TDI, 2014 with 47k km on the clock and full service history. After getting the car I was thinking of getting the car's engine flushed and also get the injectors cleaned. One slight issue I am having is I can find the inline filters, ones on amazon are saying they are for petrol engines.
Link-https://www.amazon.in/BOTAUTO-Universal-Accessories-Motorcycle-BOTAUTO42/dp/B0842B9DVX/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2AF85Y4PO4JSW&keywords=inline+fuel +filter+8mm&qid=1674023917&sprefix=inline+fuel+fil ter+8mm+c%2Caps%2C260&sr=8-1

Should that be an issue or should I buy it?
